Soundtrack

I'm excited about this one, still waiting for my delivery but had it on for about an hour and a half last night (cheers Marcellão). Perfect music to watch the sun go down whilst enjoying a glass of wine, it’s definitely coming on holiday with me, just a pity I wasn’t enjoying it on a Brazilian beach. It has great atmospherics and a lovely shimmering quality, combined with nice understated playing throughout, I love the big sub bass hit. All in all it magnificently captured that dreamy Cafe del Mar sunset vibe. Whilst retaining glimpses of their trademark sound they've managed to come up with something unexpected and carried it of with great aplomb. Whilst not entirely uncharted territory, they’ve still done it with enough verve and without sounding too much like anyone else who’s trodden a similar path.

I heard this song last week because Alejo told the link to download it(thanks my argetinian mate).I enjoy the ambient sound created by this music ,it's long but a very nice one :D

I give it a 9. i really enjoy it, very mello and very beautiful. It's the first newOrder song i've heard with piano in it.

Procession, Angel Dust, Vanishing Point and about half of Republic come to mind.

i'll give it a 9. Very nice track, great keyboards & piano and some smooth drumming. some of the acoustic guitars remind me of the good old "Technique"-period. ...but a shorter more compact version would've been better.

I just got Soundtrack today. And I like it alot. It starts of slow but then it really gets going. I love barney's guitar the most but Peters Bass is just as great. I even like Steves symbles. It works well with the song.

Overall for what it is, it's great.

If it was a single it would suck, If it were a club song, it would suck, but its a soundtrack and its great

First thing to bear in mind though, is this is a soundtrack to an exhibition not a New NO song (although it's a completely new track as far as I can tell). There are a dreadful few minutes at the beginning - swirling synths, all that palaver - when you sag and think 'Oh Dear'. And then Hooky's bass comes in and you know everything's going to be OK. It does go on a bit, but presumably it's supposed to be there while you're walking around the exhibition rather than be listened to by saddoes like us (fortunately NO appreciate their saddoes and have made it available)- I don't know how long it takes to walk round an exhibition but 30 mins 13 seconds sounds about tops to me! So, it does drift, gets a bit moody, there's a tiresome piano refrain, but there's always Hooky's bass coming back in again to get things back on track, and at one point it actually gets into a Hooky led faster groove, but then the atmospheric piano comes in again... I think it's intriguing having heard umpteen trance etc. remixes of classic NO songs where you know the song and it's fun to hear what they've done with it, to hear something like this, where you can maybe hear 2 or 3 NO songs coming out of it in the future - be interesting to see if they use any of it on the new album.

Having been to the exhibitio, it really workrd well there, slipping in and out of Saville's exhibits.

I think its a good track. Just long enough to chill to. The bass line is great. Done it again Peter. Nice one NO. 8/10 :bag:

i wish it were a wee bit easier to get if ya can't get to england to go to the show to buy it...they don't have online ordering, can't do paypal, i'm not paying a fortune for an imo, i'm not sending cash/check, expensive to call and what if i can't get through...fuck it all

If you really want it, but paypal is the only way you trust, then Ebay is what you need to do. (Only 3000, so in five years you will regret it if you dont.)

I'm pretty careless with my credit card when it comes to new order. The people I have given it too??? But nobodys ripped me off yet!

Although they don't have 'online ordering' as such, if you cut and paste the form below into an e-mail and include your credit card details, the design museum will send the CD to you. It's £10, plus £2 UK, £4 Europe, or £6 rest of the World. I got mine in 2 days even though I ordered it on a Sunday

Starts off a bit, erm, Enya for my liking, but the rolling bass and accoustic guitar flourishes reeled me in by the end.

Digged the muffled vocal samples about halfway through which sounded as though they were lifted from the Morris answering machine... "Hi Steve, it's Peter" or somesuch. Nice touch.
