can any one identify all three backing vocalists 'the cats choir' that performed that night?. I know one was Carolyne Allen of The Wake.

But you got me thinking anyway.

The one on the left was in either Quando Quango or Kalima, and the one on the right looks strangely familiar...
The singer in Kalima was called Ann Quigley, and (unless she's had a bad hair day) I don't think it's her. The woman in Quando Quango was called Hillegonda Reitveld (who has a PHD in House music!!!) according to http://www.cerysmatic.clara.net/Factory/rietveldh.html I don't thinkj it's her either!

Yes,Clive.Quite familiar as Gillian.
The girl on the right is indeed Carolyne Allen of The Wake. The one on the left I've seen before in Factory documentaries/features - I always assumed she was in one of those crappy Factory 'funk' bands that appeared round about 82/83, after the glory days.

Yeah, Ann Quigley was bleach blonde wasn't she? Are you sure it's not Miss Unpronouncable name?

Who knows...
And Julio, I was being sarcastic. The Wake tried very very hard to be New Order. The even went as far as getting a look-alike keyboard player.

As to the identity of t'other lass in the original picture - I seem to remember her playing a Voyetra keyboard in a band, I don't think she was the singer. I'll check it out later, she may have been a Stockholm Monster!

Err.... it's not Gillian? Was cloning invented at that time?
The Wake:

She used to dress the same, stand stage left, stare intently at the keyboard.
I remember one review of a gig where The Wake supported New Order, and the reviewer thought NO had come on early.
Anyone interested in stuff by The Wake or Quando Quango (featuring Johnny Marr, Vini Reilly and Mike 'M People' Pickering and various ACR types) should check out recent and forthcoming releases on LTM. The links below may help - if they are not familiar to you already.

That's my spare cash gone 'til xmas.
p.s. Of course, I should have referred to Hillegonde Reitvelt as DR Gonad, not plain gonad.
