Several months ago I was a wandering nomad with no fixed abode. My passion for the 4 unlikely heroes from Manchester and all of the many surrounding protagonists lied dormant like a caged chicken within the belly of my soul, mere leftover memories from the early nineties (a bit like The Stone Roses). That was, until, I literally stumbled onto theOrderline whilst browsing for various porn sites with free access. As if a huge jellyfish had been lofted above my head I was allowed to breath again with so many like minded kettle-chip operatives of similar nature and augmented ability.
Its difficult to express my joy at finding this hidden pseudo-society. Sceptical at first, I did think that the inhabitants would be mostly forged from freak show leftovers, one handed trapeze artists and nonchalant egg whisk generals. How wrong I was. It was at this very site where I first witnessed the revelation that the New Order band were again crafting a masterpiece. ‘Getting Things Ready’ was discussed as flippantly as a conversation between two mice who had just learnt that their brother had been chased across the street by a hawk (escaping sure death by making a deft leap to safety down a drainpipe). Well, I thought, these people do in fact know their shit, and when I read and learnt still further, it transpires that I am now only one of hundreds, nay thousands... perhaps infinity.
Here’s to all of the friendly banter, snippits of info I could never have picked up without access to at least a 36Kbps modem attached to a fairly mid-spec’d computer, and occasional heated, yet healthy debates. I love you all, and genuinely feel excited to see what this unfortunately named ‘Dry 201 Message Pub’ living organism of nations and minds has up its sleeve for the next day.
