Are there any existing bootlegs that feature Warsaw covering "The Passenger," or Joy Division's infamous "Louie Louie" jam session with A Certain Ratio?

No, they really must have played it several times/regularly, in the days before their gigs were taped. John The Postman would regularly get on the stage at the end of gigs, and start an impromptu rendition of said classic, backed by the band that happened to be on the stage.

Yes, I'm quite sure I've heard somewhere before seeing 24HPP about them playing 'Louie Louie' live, and so when I was watching the film I was surprised that they'd included such an obscure event.

Ok, according to the Shadowplay website, John the Postman got up and sang 'Louie Louie' at a Warsaw show at the Squat on June 3, 1977. Sorry about the confusion. http://www.lwtua.free-online.co.uk/shadowplay/joyd_concerts1.html

As Jan says, John the Postman getting up to sing Louie Louie wasn't an "obscure event". As you may have heard on the Electric Circus compilation, JTP actually had the honour of being announced onto the stage on the final night by Pete Shelley who referred to him as "The person who's never on the bill but always appears" or something.

I doubt there would have been Louie Louie featuring Joy Division and John the Postman, more a case of various band members from the several bands on the bill plus John the Postman. IC was being somewhat tongue in cheek at the end of the Moonlight sonata !
