Is anyone planning on recording the special on the band airing this and next weekends on the bbc2? my radio is in america and i don't think it can pick up the signal. i for one would love a recording if anyone does. i've got boatloads of live stuff for trade.

thanks

I'd like a copy as well if anyone is recording it - same as Robin, loads of stuff for trade !

My cousin is going to mini-disc it which will then eventually find it's way onto CD.

It won't be a particularly quick turnaround (as we don't see our mate with the MD to CD capabilities very often) but if you're prepared to wait a bit...

It's also archived for a week afterwards, so even if you miss it first time round (and I will, as I'm out both Saturdays), you can then relisten to it.

As for recording it, I usually use CoolEdit, recording in real time, and then save as a WAV file, little bit of editing, and then burn to a CD/convert to MP3/etc.

l8rs,

Nick :)

whoops. unfortunately i'm still on a dial-up modem, so streaming audio isn't very pleasuable. plus whatever compression tool that most radio stations use make webcasts sound like shit to my ears.

Yeah, gonna be taping both shows on humble cassette, but I've got a mate who I can ask to record it onto MD, which I can (hopefully) then bung onto CD-R. Will keep you posted...

I have Streambox VCR that can download the stream from the BBC directly.

This assumes there isn't any congestion, so taping the actual radio would be safer...

Funny, I've never heard any documentary on the RADIO before.. always been TV, it must be.. special.

I have a Traxdata Audio CD recorder as part of my Hi-Fi. I am planning to record the show direct to CD from my Denon TU260L mk.II tuner. I get a clean strong signal when tuned to Radio 2.

As the broadcast is split into 2 one hour shows I am planning to produce a 2 CD set.

I've a Pioneer audio CD recorder but no tuner! so that's me stuffed then.

Can I beg a copy when it's done?

Yeah no probs - email me your address and I'll post the CD's to you.

However, just wondered if you have a Digital TV box ?? If so you can connect the TV box to your HiFi amp, as if it was a radio tuner, using a normal phono lead. Then simply switch on the TV and select Radio 2 - now record the analogue signal using your Pioneer CD Recorder. My TV box is from NTL and I can listen to a wide variety of Radio Stations - I believe the Sky boxes also provide Radio.
