I like Taras Shevchenko (it's the first video of theirs i got) and NewOrderStory (for Barney calling Tony Wilson a cunt for ruining his career). And for you?

Shit! I wanted to vote on NewOrderStory but voted on the Best Of instead! Anyway, I'm waiting to see both released on DVD...
New Order Story for me. Watching them sitting around, drinking, and not looking old or overweight is how I wil remember the band. Oh, and calling Wilson a c*** also does it for me ![]()
"Academy"...if only for Love Vigilantes... ![]()
no, seriously, i like the 511-DVD very much. Great performances of brilliant material (brutal, she's lost control, crystal, your silent face).
511 ![]()
Reasons :
1.I was there
2.They played 6 JD songs
3.It was the first and unique time I saw them live
4.I met some virtual friends, after that they became real
5.Barney talked with me before She's Lost Control (cut on the video) ![]()

SIX?! So it was called '5 11' because...?
I. Wouldn't. Let. It. Lie! ;)
Not sure I remember Barney talking to you before SLC, Julio? You, er, entirely sure about this one?!

I was right in front of the stage,Al.I knew that the setlist would be quite similar to Les Zenith so I knew the sequence of the songs.Have a look at this and listen to your Finsbury unofficial cd ![]()
bernard: We're going to play a surprise stuff now.Can you guess what it is ? me: She's lost control (2x) bernard:One of you...(i don't understand this part) how about? bernard:You that stare on the front. How do you know we're going to play this???(i didn't understand this part very well too) bernard:it's called she's lost control
Ask Ian McCulloch about Ceremony. He's got the same opinion as mine

Julio, HALF of this newsgroup were shouting "She's Lost Control!" at the front of the stage at this point! ![]()
Oh right, well if McCulloch says it's so, then it must be true! ![]()
511; they're all up for it; it's well filmed and the sound quality through surround sound is great (once the remember to turn Hooky up!). There are a couple of hilarious bits on it though, where it appears to have shots inserted which don't match the sound! However, it's a great DVD and 'She's lost Control' alone is worth the price of admission.

Wish i was there to see newOrder in all their glory.
ACADEMY Despite the annoying graphics and Mike Mansfield production, it's classic video of a band in their prime. Was this gig widely advertised, I saw them at Woolwich two days earlier but knew nothing about this until after the event.

Peter, you jest? The Academy gig WAS widely advertised - weeks in advance! - but the Woolwich gig appeared as a warm-up, literally, the day before in the NME. I know cos I wasn't that bothered about Woolwich, but had a girlfriend at the time who was keener than me, so we ended up going... .

Oh no! Ronald reagan syndrome-
Old age has finally caught up with me.
I honestly do not remember the Academy gig advertised. Could it be that
HEADliners Bronski Beat put me off.?
It's weird that I went to Woolwich which as you say was only advertised a day in advance.![]()

C'mon, they hadn't done a UK gig in SIX WHOLE MONTHS before that so the Academy gig was a BIG EVENT! And, yes, BB did headline. And I'm +ve the Woolwich gig was a last minute thing, just like the T&C was supposedly a 'last min warmup' for the Royal Albert Hall just six months before!
Originally posted by Martin Davies How come nobody has voted for "3 16". What's the matter with it?
It's a brilliant come back gig martin and would have been my second choice. Academy though just sneaks it into first place.
