Nothing special in that statement - Joy Division music seems to be cropping up quite regularly on tv adverts and documentaries. It's just that this was a tv trailer for a televised Liverpool footy friendly on Channel 5!
Surely when it's football trailers, Joy Division should be reserved for use with televised Macclesfield matches ? Or am I opening up a precious can of worms here. (It's not where you're from, it's where you're at.)
Sky Sports have used LWTUA in their footie coverage before - I think it was at the end of Norwich v Ipswich for some unknown reason!
I heard Atmosphere in a documentary on Fantastico (programme on Globo TV at Sundays evenings here in Brazil) the theme was violence against women.
There's a new Japanese film out in the UK this weekend called 'Unknown Pleasures'. No mention of JD anywhere in the review but did mention one of the director's previous offering was called 'Love Will Tear Us Apart'!!
Hmmm, "Atmosphere", eh? Saw the advert myself this morning, thought it nicely ironic, since atmosphere has been sadly lacking the past few times I've been to Anfield, but I'm sure our new boy Kewell will sort that out. (Apologies to the non-footie fans who may have no idea what I'm on about. Makes a change...)
