Just been at a friend's annual barbie, and tried to remember why I missed last year's date ... . . . ..

One Year ago today - now! - half of this forum were going f'ing mental to the final strains of New Order at the Move festival! What a day that was, best gig of the Get Ready tour, imo.

Just to think, Wembley 87 to GMex 88 was roughly a year but seemed like a veritable LIFETIME(!) but now gigs aren't so important to most 'fans' and the past year has passed without many people that bothered! Ach well, such is life.. .

A point worth raising, Al you may have mentioned something like this before,New Order have supposedley reformed perform 35 gigs between July 01 and July 02 and then do f'all for a year.. and counting. I know that I haven't seen them for sixteen years but I would like to be given the opportunity.

I do bother!

I haven't seen'em since 10 years, I had high hopes to see them back in late 2001 until the September 11 incident...!

Let's just hope they will someday come back to the east cost!

I'm not yet in any position to buy myself a ticket to England to see them live (I would do it probably if I were single and still had credit :D) but I have hope they will tour a little with the upcoming album....

And I sure hope this gig will be a NewOrderOnline reunion, in (I hope) Toronto or Boston, otherwise New York ;)

Because I sure know now it seems to be a hell of a party going to a NO gig with you guys.. ;) not too keen on seeing a soccer game with you, but a NO gig, I'd do it :D

i know what you mean, nic. sometimes i dream about all this community getting together at one new order show (any). can you imagine that? it would be great. who knows? maybe....

one day and it won´t be long....

instead of spending 6000 quid to buy autographs he rather buy some airplane tickets for the outside-first-world-supporters. :nod:

Didn't mean it quite like that, but the one year hiatus has passed without so much as a murmur - whereas something like G-Mex 88 was at absolute fever pitch because of their year-long absence.

How come I dearly loved New Order for their synth stuff, now I mostly enjoy their guitar stuff? ... is it down to the drinking water in M'bro?

Having got into them around Low-Light and Sub-Culture 12" (that's like saying The Sun and The Earth in one sentence) - its only now in retrospect that they existed as a synth combo for only a limited period of time, obviously to me at the most influential stage of my own enjoyment.

Playing JD stuff on a quality system sounds so fresh also, and at the time I couldn't fathom why Ian sang like a gruff Kenny Rogers. (I hadn't seen a picture of Ian, so it was shocking to see such a young person).

As for the gigs, the more gigs you go to, the less likely you are to be utterly dazzled.

I sound like an old boot.
