Hello i reside in Canada and i would be interested in some booking information for New Order. In reguards to a next summmer one night outdoor festival. Possible tour as well.
If someone could email me the appropriate information it would be greatly appreciated.

Well all i can do is give it my best shot right? I'm confident people would come out in droves for the events i have planned. But if they are lazy or prefer always the massive crowds then that would be too bad.
This would be a pretty big dream for me and many, so i hope they might be up to some adventure.

So, is that all that the band got out of the many years of gigging in the US (and the UK, of course), at the expense of the European mainland (barely a dozen gigs between 1985 & 2001)?
You can probably tell (even without any smilies!) that I'm more than mildly pissed off by the indifference which the band have shown towards their European fanbase since 1986.

Their currency was ridiculously high in the States in 87 and 89, due to college radio, or whatever pigeon-hole they were placed in over there at that time, but the Area:One gigs were farcical for the lack of support. In the main, America simply forgot New Order. I wouldn't have thought they could be ar&ed to go back and play club venues over there now - I doubt they've either the time nor inclination to attempt to 'break' America again. Best probably to stick to what they know, which'll be a smattering of gigs on our side of the water. European festival circuit next year, per chance?!
When you mention America you are most definitely lumping Canada into that one. Now although geographically we are indeed North America. But on the other hand our musical interests and followings are very much different than the states. Please try not to lump the two countries together.
New Order still recieves a healthy following from Canadians and always did. You are right though that the states are famous for rejecting talented groups for simply wearing the wrong pair of shoes or because MTV refuses to give any play. Canada...completely different.

Yes, but unfortunatly, we're not attractive for them unless they can tour in a few cities like they did in the Area:One tour (they came to Vancouver after all!)
but Nicos...remember, they only played 4 gigs in NA that time...so Canada got a full 25% that go around! :D

Indeed, completely different. The Vancouver show was the WORST supported gig in the entire Area:One tour. There was more New Order fans in deepest darkest Washington state. Oh, and beer too.

You're not alone. I'd have loved the chance to see a series of dates across Europe (particularly in the old days, when the set changed), and it's hardly fair to the European audiences. Maybe there will be a few next year ? Fingers crossed.
... the missus & I are in part still in Europe hanging on to the idea that there will be some significant Euroland action next year.... fingers crossed!
once we get to Oz it's unlikely we'll be able to afford the trip back for a while... plus of course the exchange rate-wrongs converting Oz Dollar to pretty much anything else non-South East Asian...
