Someone must have posted about this cover already.

It's a little bit aussie, a little bit gothy, and just a little bit saucy.

Nought out of ten for originality when it comes to the sleeve design...

Say what you will, Clarence, ... as long as the band's singles aren't properly rereleased on CD (even bloody Duran Duran have got their proper 'Recycle' by now), this is as good a tribute to greatness as we're likely to get (and I am talking specifically about the sleeve design).

Ikon's version of Ceremony is great. Their version of In A Lonely Place is great as well, I had this one quite some time before Ceremony mind you. But yeah. Both are grand. Maybe they'll cover Procession, Everything's Gone Green and Temptation next?

Pity the download of "Ceremony" goes for all of 53 seconds.

Then I suggest you try again... I got the full 4'12".

Musically, it's OK, being close to the original threepiece version, but the vocal is too flat (Barney's lift on "no mercy SHOWN! Heaven knows it's GOT to be this time" is such a vast improvement).

No, they have a Joy Division fixation bigger than anything else. You should listen their previous singer, he sounds like Ian Curtis more than anybody else, even Paul Banks from Interpol. I also spotted in their website they're covering "Shadowplay" live.

Ikon may be obsessed with Joy Division but they are also nice blokes, I used to have a fanzine and they graciously gave me an interview.

They did a fab Shadowplay IMHO. Completely different. Ceremony is too similar for my tastes in covers (I like to hear a bit of the covering band coming across), but they're definitely one of the better nouveau "Goth" bands.

No Joy Division/Saville influence to be found here:

Nor here:

If only more record covers were like this...

Plus the name 'IKON' just happened to be the name of the Factory video arm.
