I won't say I don't like it, I've just simply never 'got' it. Even to this day. Happy to say that Guilty Partner is my least favourite moment on Technique, but this one's not far off. They'd 'rocked out' so much better on previous albums.
It's another pisstake, this time out of the Cure. Revenge for In Between Days ?
Can't understand why people don't like Guilty Partner, it's one of the best two on the album !
It's a copy of "Just Like Heaven". Or should that be the other way round? Can't remember which came first. In any case, refer to Technique Survivor for the general view.
All The Way is my least favorite on the album! Never got it myself!
But I do love Guilty Partner.

Guess it's all opinions, but yeah, my fave song off Technique too. One of Barney's best ever set of lyrics to boot. Top track.
great bouncy track off my favourite album...not stacks of great live material but some good tunes..imo
one of the best on the album.
except for that damn 'parasites and literasites' line. but perhaps that's part of the attraction.

When asked in interviews about the specific subject matter of their songs, Barney would often answer/avoid the question by saying they were about all the emotions you hold. Certainly some of those emotions were upbeat and happy.
The borrowed bassline nagged at first but I soon realized the song transcended that unfortunate element. It is a favourite off Technique which is high praise in my opinion. I love the guitar work, the lyrics and even the O.M.D.-ish keyboard bits that the Other Two are so fond of.
No-one's mentioned it's place in the running order though. When it just kicks in like that after the techno-gobble of Fine Time (nuthin wrong with techno-gobble, mind) you just know you're listening to something of a genius LP that transcends trends.
when making mixtapes for friends, this song, mr disco, or vanishing point tend to appear with the intent of representing technique (depending on the personal tastes of the recipient).
All The Way is fan-chuffing-tastic. Some days it's my favourite on Technique. Okay - the bassline's a total rip off of Just Like Heaven (also superb), but otherwise the songs aren't that similar.
Moreover, quite apart from the marvellous synth sections, or the way it brilliantly rolls off Fine Time, it is absolutely essential to Technique thematically.
