just seen barney, hooky and stephen on ch4 they showed Oasis and barney commented "they certainly gave music a kick up the arse a bit "

I think its a repeat of the 100 top selling singles that featured Blue Monday selling 1,001400 copies.

Thanks Dan - I just caught the second bit - Blue Monday - where Barney & Hooky are taking the piss out of Steve for wiping the drum tracks

Shame they couldn't have done the whole documentary on New Order...

hahah yeah, got his foot caught around the lead , they also showed Kylie with blue monday and Hooky said "she should put all her records to ours, so we can get more bloody money!" :)

Says it all really - mind you, Kylie would sound a hell of alot better if she just mimed to New Order releases - at least she's prettier than Barney, Hooky or Steve...

Am I right in thinking that Blue Monday was #73 in their 'chart'? Or am I just letting the catalogue number interfere with my already addled brain...?

yeah I think it was #73 with 1,001400 copies sold not sure how much the 12" would of cost when first released, how much would a 12" record cost in 1983? and that it lost money on every copy sold

Hooky was saying they should of had a 'Punk Idol' back in 1977 like Pop Idol lol

I kinda remember that 12" singles used to cost about £1.99 back then...record companies had a fear of the £2 barrier for singles!
