Ahhh, there was a time when a real rarity could be picked up for 70UKP (e.g., GE PCL). Check out http://www.geocities.com/tivarsson/guide.html for a price guide some people put together five years ago. I guess inflation has caught up...

NB: the Guide was not put together using eil.com prices...

Did eil.com exist back then? when collecting New order wasn`t as popular as it seems to be since the arrival of eBay.

pc& lies-german-marbled-multicoloured vinyl/rough trade i remember this listed on channel 4 teletext over 12 years ago for £350.00, this was obviously before the invention of the net and was the only way to advertise "rare" music for sale.(see a previous post, cant remember which, but i think it was one of mine, originally) as for the run 2 7" there has been a few on ebay over the last few weeks, the last one ended at £35-£37 for the promo, unlike the 12 which fetches between £10-£25. steve smith,uk:scratch:

7.JP 1984 7" Blue Monday (Factory/Nippon Columbia TD-1098) [promo]4:09 Blue Monday 4:09 Confusion 25 copies ($???)

-About $250 on a Yahoo auctions Japan a couple of years ago (I live in Japan). Never ever thought I'd find it.

10.JP 1993 CD: Joy Division New Order Collection (Polydor K.K. DCI-3098) [promo] 100 copies ($200.00)

-~$85 on aforementioned site. Another long-desired Japanese item.

  1. JP 1985 LP: 1981-1985(Factory/Columbia TD-3072) [promo] Used to promote the tour in Japan. Only 200 exist.($150.00)

-~$35 in a rather grungy Tokyo record shop. Not bad condition, though. Didn't know what it was at the time, but had to buy it. Amazingly, I walked around the corner to another shop and found the same disc! Guessed it wasn't that rare and didn't buy it. Have never seen it again in any shop..

16.JP 1993 CD:Republic (Polydor K.K. POCD-1110)Limited edition, includes lyrics and extra tracks, 1500 copies ($40.00)

-There were surely more than 1500 copies made. It was in all the shops as a standard release here when it came out. Recently picked up a sealed copy for ~$8. By the way, if you haven't noticed, I'm set on Japanese releases. They do seem to be better quality and with nifty things like obis and inserts it is a collector's dream/nightmare. Have got almost all the Japanese vinyl releases (only missing True Faith). Working on Cd 1st pressings now. And also all 4 laserdiscs. The coolest thing I've found is a Japanese videocassette release of "A Factory Video". It's official, and it has *completely* different artwork on the box. Can upload an image if anyone's curious.

Peter

BTW, I also have #15 ($50) and #17 ($8).

It's funny how we mostly mention the items we found as a bargin (or close to)...

Congrats. I tried to buy it from a person a while back. No luck.

I found the Substance LD in a record store in St Petersburg, Florida, for 20USD (I believe). Traded the LD for this promo. Probably one of my best deals. Except when I ordered a Palm V but received a (newly released) Palm m505 by mistake :D

Yes please. You can e-mail me a scan. If you find a second copy...

One of my biggest regrets was when I, early in my collector-career, did not buy the NO/DM mispressed 7" (Hurt/Obercorn) for (today's exchangerate) 60USD.
