Cheers Al - making the inlays was originally Wen's idea when we first started the site.
Unfortunately (or fortunately!) he's really busy at the moment, so the site is up to me - any suggestions/complaints, etc, anyone is welcome to let me know.
Hope to meet up with you and the others, next time there's a piss-up in London...

Yeah, send your ISP a big fat tip. My downloads peaked at 290.1 Kbps! ![]()
thanks alot chris... however, sheffield city hall was the worst new order gig ever and im sure dreams was never played during a very short set..
you may have got it confused with the sheff uni gig a year earlier...this definately included dreams and as a gig was in a different class..
i went to both but have a very poor memory..perhaps i could be wrong
No problem, Paul - I made sure that I checked with the incredibly reliable NOOL Tour section first... ..surely BOTH of us couldn't have been wrong...? ![]()
And you're a couple of years younger than me... eeeek!
what about the polls for the next update? or it will be only your decision? (which is fine for me, you´re the bosses ;) )
too busy to administer the polls. So I guess it'll be chris's decision. Unless someone wants to help out

Illegal bootlegging.. tsk tsk tsk
:D
Which reminds me, NOOL had 5 gigabytes of live mp3s 2 years ago, we had to drop them because we were accused of bootlegging by Reprise, and caused us a lot of trouble and being called a "black sheep", all around.
So we don't know who told them, but someone did, you can scale down to two people :D
Oh yeah...
The usual disclaimer: NewOrderOnline has nothing to do with this site, but I can't stop free speach on this board!
P/S: Chris, none of the site as "UK" and "US" works anymore.. point to neworderretro.com for the UK and find the Rhino website for the US (it should be in the links here)

And I only had time to download 2 concerts !!! :(
No one cares more about...what's that band again?...New Order than Reprise Records.
If I had downloaded these illegal bootlegs, I'm sure by now I'd be digging on Barney's crazy whammy-bar feedback in "This Time of Night," soaking up the raw energy of "Everything's Gone Green," and generally revelling in what a tough live band this was.

Thanks for that Nic, and to re-affirm that - NewOrder Online and its webmasters have NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with DNE.
I have been going on what Hooky said in 1985 - 'If anyone has copies of our gigs, get 'em out there, cos I'd like to hear them'
If he changes his mind, perhaps he'll email me and let me know.
Cheers Hooky. ![]()
Well, I wasn't expecting them to dig out some of them and put them on Retro though :D
I doubt New Order will ever release another live CD, the Retro will be the sole one!!
The BBC one wasn't released by New Order's label, it doesn't count ;)
Sheesh, so many bands released DVD and CDs at the same moment, why isn't that what happens here? Why Reading 98 and Finsbury 2002 not on CD yet? I doubt it would cost London a fortune, they could do profit out of this!
Originally posted by Al Jarvis Quality. And a good idea to make the cover too, nice one.
So long as no enterprising entrepeneurs out there misuse them to set up a cottage bootlegging industry, all is OK.
Seriously, the number of times I've seen (or heard reports of) stuff for sale on the likes of eBay at hugely inflated prices, when it's readily available for free elsewhere (at least approved by the band, irrespective of the legality) is positively shocking.
Enterprising entrepreneurs? Cottage Industry? You mean we could have made money out of that, instead of doing it completely for free???
DOH! ![]()
Hi Chris, great recording, thanks. BTW, you fucked up the link to the back cover pictures... They're all pointing to the front cover.
Ooops... sorry about the incorrect link - I was tired and it was around 4am... All sorted now. I'm one big fuck-up really!

Hey, at least you didn't get a "D" in basic HTML (like some people...such as myself
)
You can bet your bottom dollar that within a month someone will be selling this on E-bay, particularly as you've made it easy for them by designing a cover !
Seriously, making stuff available this way is asking for trouble, restricted access to secure area is the only way you can make recordings available without having some piss-taking bastard profitteer from your generosity and jeopardise your site and even possibly recordings collection.

Well, thanks to all who have left comments/suggestions.
As a result of the above, and similar (and we appreciate these - thanks) we have decided to make DNE a password protected site.
It will be available ONLY to registered Neworderonline members - requests for passwords should be directed to either myself (thirt33nth_man@hotmail.com) or to WenOrder on his email address.
We will be checking places like Ebay etc. and if any concerts/inlays are advertised for sale, we will delete our site immediately.
We make no profit whatsoever from the DNE site and may we assure everyone that no 'official' releases will ever be posted - we have never intended to reduce the band's or record companies' revenues and intend to continue in this vein.
It is a site for fans to hear gigs that they couldn't attend for whatever reason.
Hope that clears things up a bit and that you understand our reasons for taking this action.
