UK Tour 2001 bootlegs - a question of quality

I have cds of Glasgow, Manchester & Brixton, why is it that there isn't a decent recording amongst them compared to the US and Oz audience recordings. Have British bootlegers lost their touch?

BTW, what type of equipment is used these days - minidisc portables?

ATR uses a DAT thingy - most of his sound iffy to be honest. The quality of live recordings has certainly gone downhill since the mid 80s.

My mate Marco from Germany taped Finsbury 2002 with a mini tape recorder,sound quality was great.It was a great time we had listening the concert just a few minutes after its end.

I remember when all you had to do was stand in front of PA, adjust recording level and away you go.
