Indeed, I watched most of it today and yesterday. I saw all of Reading 98 and the interview, but only half of Taras Shevchenko, since the sound quality was a bit muddy. But, it's pretty good, in my opinion, although I still prefer the cure's trilogy as a concert video. Regret was a good opener to begin the '98 show, but the closing with WIM disappointed me. As far as the performing of remixes went, I actually enjoyed TBTHOG and True Faith and thought that the band pulled them off well, especially the former. But, the entended dance mix of BLT was a bit of a disappointment, aside from the fact that Barney's vocals were at a low. For most of the concert, his vocals weren't bad, I'll admit, and the whooping wasn't excessive. Paradise sounded decent, and Gillian actually played guitar, but only minimally. Blue Monday, when I watched it on my comp sounded good, although as soon as I played it to test out my mother's DVD player, the first thing she, and my sister notice, is Barney touching his crotch, of all things, and the "if it wasn't for your big penis" line also seemed to surprise them a bit, but I'm not looking for their opinion in the music I listen to, despite I'll be hearing "the music you listen to is all synthesized stuff with a lead singer grabbing his crotch" for the next week before I head up to Boston again.

It's easy to judge New Order being a The Cure's fan.Feel like an outsider really. Sorry but I can't do it.
Remember though, that 316 shows the first (official) released New order gig on video and for those of us who bought it, it brings back loads of memories.
Agreed that the Cure's Trilogy vid/DVD is good - morem comprehensive as well, but I reckon that if a New Order DVD was released showing three gigs in a row:
For example:
Heaven 'Ultradisco', Wembley 19whatever and Liverpool Olympia 2001
you would get a better picture of an evolving band, less static and more musically/historically interesting.
Please bear in mind that those are top-of-my-head examples of gigs I went to, but although I like the Cure and think their music is really cool live and often atmospheric - New Order beat them easily for development, changing the way they play live, musical innovation, biggest 12" ever - if it wasn't for your big penis...

The 2 times The Cure tried to change their style they sounded once as Joy Division and another like New Order

Bobby admits it. During the Pornography tour they sucked, were a terrible band. At that same moment NO had heard the sound of the rocket and create a totally new sound and great music. Now it appears that NO has leveled off in experimenting and developing focusing on enjoying themselves and entertaining the crowd. They are actually speaking to the audience! Adding the old Joy Division songs and new members as well as new songs as well. More rock&Roll in a NO sense. Best served with alcohol and friends.
The Cure on the other hand, is focuing on perfection of live performances. Although more emotional it appears less audience orientated. Less entertaining, just stare in awe and sing along. Less Rock&Roll, more introspective and atmospheric. Probably better after strong drugs.
I will be able to give a better description after I see them in LA next month.
Just FINALLY got 316, had to watch most of Taras right off the bat, amazing. It just bugged me about that long, silent infared camera intro, but still cool.
Reading '98 was ok, but I still prefer 5 11 for some reason. 
I think that long arse infrared intro was created by Steve. This was during the early days of home pcs. Notice the concert was twice the normal 20 minutes they said they rather play??

I remember first getting Taras on video a long time ago and watching it going, WTF?! What is this intro bit... did I buy a New Order concert video? Where is New Order? Etc... But then I came to realize how arty New Order is, and that something like this becomes typical for New Order.
