Does anyone know of a good article on the web or other source of information that discusses the synths that New Order uses on their records? I'm especially interested in what gear was used on "Get Ready".

Thanks...

I'd be surprised if there were Emulators on Get Ready - they'd be able to play all the old stuff live if they did ! Anyway, Jonathan Scott has their Emulator II.....

There are two good interviews for the equipment geeks at Steinberg website: the first one with Bernard Sumner and another one with Roger Lyons.

This has been discussed on the Ceremony mailing-list and/or alt.music.new-order. I have also seen a site somewhere (probably one of the "older" fansites) with a list.

Search the archives of the above places.

this is true!

... because the xp-80 is made by Roland, not Yamaha. in addition to the xp-80 live, steve is using a kurzweil sampling keyboard (possibly the K2500).

Is Jonathan Scott from Scotland ? - if its who i think it might be i knew John from '85 whilst at Bathgate College in West Lothian whilst on day release from my day job. Just like me, he was a serious new order fan and we met when he noticed i was wearing a factus 81/82 T shirt at the college one day! Kinda lost touch a few years later as you do......

I would love to hear from him again.

Yeah, the one and same. Search for FourFortyFive in this forum and you can see his posts, and a pic of him with Black Grape.

He decided to take a break from all this New Order malarkey at the start of this year but hopefully he'll be back soon . . .
