I was wondering... when the 'Getting Things Ready' album and its predictable release pattern (i.e. track 1, 2 then 3 as Republic) has diminished, well, what then? - can we hope to expect spontaneous single releases circa the eighties? - will the Order attempt to follow up GR with another superb offering? - will Steven Morris go mad and attack us all with his myriad of collectable war memorabilia? ...

Or perhaps, once the angel dust has settled, the Order will finally put their musical sticks down and leave the building forever. After all, lightening can't strike thrice can it?

Well Huntsy, it probably depends on if they're still skint or not.

The Chems thing should be out instead of a 4th single and Hooky said in a recent interview that he 'couldn't wait to start the next album'. The fact that Pottsy and Johnny Marr(playing on all of the next PSB album apparently) seem to be doing their own things now add a bit of weight to that

The (new) order of things to come:

  1. 60MPH charts at number 15
  2. Turn My Hay released
  3. Turn My Hay charts at number 3, helped by a video that features New Order eating a surprised looking Billy Corgan.
  4. Brand new song 'Wasted' released to critical acclaim.
  5. 'Wasted' charts at number 29 despite a brilliant video featuring a parody of The Perfect Kiss video where the band play the wrong instruments and an Ian Curtis look-alike falls through a door in the background.
  6. New Order begin work on a new album, but decide to open a nightclub instead.
  7. The End.

So, Huntsy, did you read the Best NO/related purchases ever thread? With regard to the future of the fab four, I predict they will be putting out new stuff well into their nineties.

Lyrics in the chorus of the upcoming new single 'wasted' :

Feeling pretty wasted, the chicken is not basted and i have never tasted chicken this good.

Its gas mark 7 and i'm in heaven Gas mark 11 burnt the chicken

burn burn burn burn etc.

Hah! Keeper, you really made me laugh this time! Mostly because it's not too hard to imagine that happening... :)

I'd really like to hear that song, Wasted. Do you think it will be out any time soon? ;)

the projected release date is early January 2002, so we should expect it's release sometime after we are all dead.

What will happen is this: 60 Miles An Hour - will sink without a trace. Turn My Way - will sink even faster Chemical Bros. collaboration - top 3, massive clubland hit World In Motion 2002 - No.1 all summer after En-ger-land win the world cup! :smoking:

60mph will scrape into the top 20 on the strength of everything after 2 minutes 44 seconds.

New Order have done England so they could do Scotland's world cup song - "We didn't like Football anyway"

One benefit of us not qualifying is that we won't get Del Almitri or the Proclaimers releasing shite like "Don't Come Home Too Soon" (thanks for the confidence lads).

Anyway, England's world cup song will be by a reformed Abba and entitled "Swede Dreams".

It's the only way she'll get a hit. A rousing rendition of Posh-related football chants would go down a treat I reckon.

MUFFY MUFFY MUFFY.!!!!...IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN!!! GREAT MINDS AND HOW THEY THINK ALIKE........ I THOUGHT ABOUT "WORLD IN MOTION 2002-VERSION" AS WELL - I MEAN, PUT IT THIS WAY...IF ALL THE FUTURE GET READY SINGLES STIFF (EXCEPT THE CHEMS COLLAB WHICH I'M SURE WILL PROPELL BOTH SETS OF HEROES TOP 5-WARDS AGAIN - IF IT'S GOOD OF COURSE!!) ...WHICH SEEMS VERY LIKELY...THEN PERHAPS THEY MAY NEED TO REVAMP "WIM" AGAIN JUST SO THEY CAN CYNICALLY SURF THE ZEITGEST AND GRAB THEMSELVES A NUMBER ONE HIT AGAIN....

....THAT IS, OF COURSE, UNLESS THE FUCKIN' SHIGHTNING SEEDS BRING OUT "THREE FUCKIN' LOINS" (sic) ONCE AGAIN......I DREAD THAT THIS WILL BE THE MORE PROBABLE OUTCOME..... Oh well....we can all dream can' t we??

  1. 60 MPH (a respectable #25 its first week, held from the top by the latest Faith Hill-Diane Warren abomination)

  2. Billy will try to force Gillian out permenantly and assume creative control. Hooky will kick him in the shins and Barney will give him his notice.

  3. Gillian will return, but the Barney-Hooky rivalry will prevent any further development ("My side band's better!" "No mine is!")

  4. New Order will put out Turn My Way as a single (editing out BC's presence..see number 2) and it will chart a respectable #39, held back by the latest Matchbox 20 abomination.

  5. after a episode of "Where Are They Now" in which Hooky beats the interviewer for his "how does it feel to be a has-been?" query gets to be too much, Barney and Stephen drive a tank over to VH1's studios and raid the hair-metal collection, thus disabling half of VH1's programming schedule (don't ask me why hair metal, it's the best I could come up with)

  6. New Order break up, regroup, break up, regroup, do a cheesy "Eighties Package Tour", and break up

  7. They get back together

  8. They break up again...you get the idea

ha ha ha....yes....and then they'll invite back Tony Wilson when they do their next chat-show appearance (Michael Parkinson in the UK, David Letterman in the US) just so they can humiliate him in front of the studio audience by stripping the old pretentious cakebrain naked and throwing huge blancmanges and meat pies at his nether regions...... Yeeeeee-HAAAAA!! RESULT!!
