My favorite track on Music for Pleasure. One of my primary gripes with MFP was that it seemed as if Pottsy and Hooky were trying a little too hard to emulate the sounds of Oasis and their like on many of tracks. On Sweet Lips however, the other other two go flat-out disco. The unabashed kitsch rife throughout the whole track- chiming orchestral synths, popping bassline, Wah-wah'ed up guitar squeals, strained falsetto sing-along chorus, and house-y female vocal samples in the beginning- all harken back to the era when dance music was bouncy, non-threatening fluff.
Hooky sounds like a decadent death disco overseer in the verses.
