Make it happen - Electronic

My favorite Electronic track. Probably 2nd favorite side project track behind "Shine". I love this song. It should've been a New Order track.
There are a few tunes on WFTSC where the vocal inflection sounds seriously "Electronic"-influenced. As in, light and trippy "Raise the Pressure"-era sweetness. But Make It Happen is the opposite - where it's like New Order has invaded Bernard's side project lol.
Make it happen was perhaps the high point of Twisted Tenderness. Just under 8 minutes of guitars, beats and synths all mixed together to make this hip hop/electronic/rock'n'roll monster
It's the one track I come back to most from this album, Barney hasn't really been this experimental since to be honest! I always wondered why they removed the Ice-T sample from the promo mix ("This is not a pop album") although I guess Parlophone couldn't be arsed shelling out royalties. The promo mix is the best though if you can get your hands on it. Available on the 4 track TT sampler or the full EMI promo inc. King For A Day. The finished album version had the sample rather clumsily edited out.
The Darren Price mix from the Late At Night CD1 also stayed true to the original and added some blissed out synth-strings and a more reverbed feel. Quality remix! :)

I think 'Make It Happen' is ace. In fact I love the three opening tracks to Twisted Tenderness.
A real moment of magic occurs at 05.35 - check it out if you’re not sure which bit I mean. Power!
This track is simply perfect. One of Electronic's finest moments and definitely the best offering on Twisted Tenderness.
I know it's like 7 years too late now, but I still find myself dreaming of a stripped-down version of it. Think of the acoustic guitars ending of the orignal track... To die for.
