Tabled as a prospective third single from their debut "The Other Two & You" after Tasty Fish and Selfish; Innocence ended up only being released on 12" vinyl in the States containing exclusive track "Satisfied" (another sturdy pop song).  Innocence is a great poppy song with remix potential that was fulfilled in my opinion (See the Love To Infinity mixes) it also came across as a fully formed pop song on TOT's debut.

Favourite bit for me: the overall mix and instrumentation is really dreamy and almost ambient in an "active" way (if that makes any sense) Gillian's vocals are really good too, she is obviously an underrated singer.  Worst bit, can't really think of any! :D  It's one of those songs that is hard to dislike, the "nahnahnahs" at the end are a little cheesy but needs must for an outro chorus I suppose :)  The keyboard melodies and the way they are mixed is cool for a synthpop song.

I recommend the Love To Infinity 12" mix of Innocence if you can get your hands on it :thumb:

I agree with Ally,  this is a fine track with an underrated singer.

Best bit for me is the guitar sound - not sure if its real or synthasised but its a great Chic style

Worst bit? come on! theres nothing wrong with this song

(maybe stick in a bit of Hooky bass??? wonder what that would sound like)

So, those of us this side of the Atlantic, where can we hear 'Satisfied'?

Satisfied is actually a very solid B-side and I enjoy it. The Love to Infinity mix of Innocence works perfectly with Love to Infinity's mix of Erasure's In My Arms - I always play that combo as a 1-2 punch. But the album track of this song has a nice lush quality to it that I'd love to hear in extended form. All in all a great track!

It's up there with the best ever songs from the side projects, I can't think of any I like better, some equally (like Some Distant Memory) but this is flawless, and like others, I love Gillian's voice, in many ways I think it's Barney's equal, original, one of a kind, beautiful in it's own unique way. And I love the nanananana nananana's at the end, never thought they were cheesy, thought they were pure pop perfection :D. The Song's intro makes it almost sound like something you'd play as a christmas song, during a late night drive in the snow in the mountains somewhere, but maybe thats cause I first heard it while driving in the snow in the mountains ;).

I just cannot get enough of Gillians voice - I think shes fantastic, so dreamy and sweet and just amazing. I say that TOT are pop, what pop SHOULD be, catchy, sweet, uplifting, but layered and sophisticated musically. Innocence is a great track and the remixes are very solid too - I think this is a GREAT track and good to sing along to!
