picked this up on ebay recently, comes in a slip case - do all the electronic singles come like that or was it just a factory one off style?

that was a shortlived experiment by the US record label. I've got loads of singles in that same packaging. Very poor, as it turned out. Get The Message was also released in the usual digipack in the US.

I think I know the ones you mean... Is it the same type of packaging as the New Order US maxi-singles of Bizarre Love Triangle, Spooky and O2's Selfish?  It has a weird sort of "clip" feature at the edge?  They were bloody strange!  I have the US maxi-singles of Get the message, Feel every beat and Disappointed but they are in simple cardboard jewel-case like sleeves.

Ah, yeah they do look pretty crappy.  Lots of potential damage to the outer sleeve there... I have the regular plastic jewel-box case of the US "Getting away with it...." maxi-single and the carboard version of the others I mentioned.  I don't think we got any of those in the UK, or if we did they were very limited.

Yup, managed to get one of those, although the inner plastic case has now cracked...

Not sure where I managed to grab it from, probably from an HMV or Virgin Megastores (pre-internet)! :)
