I know for the most of you Slave sounds ridiculous because it's so over the top, but I think this is the best song ever by any side project... Well, don't forget I actually enjoy The Darkness... ;) Slave, fookin hell, it's just this HUGE pumped up hurricane of sound in your face, just like Blue Monday and Perfect Kiss. The keyboards are superb and recall Pleasure Dome by Frankie Goes To Hollywood (they have that sound that seems to come straight from a porn theatre in Amsterdam), and then there's that guitar... I adore that cheesy guitar solo! The rhythm sounds as extreme as Fine Time and the tune is dead cool. It's a masterpiece. Try jumping wall to wall doing air guitar on that solo and you'll understand

There must be someone else who loves this song... raise your hands then!

I think Slave has the honour of being one of the most remixed tracks in New Order's side-project history (Feel Every Beat follows closely behind) Just take a look at the tracklisting of the Slave US Maxi-single!! (8 versions) Then you also have "I am not your Slavell" from the UK CD single, the demo version "Wende", and the LP Edit from the US CD Promo.

I think it's a decent effort for a single, I like Pineapple Face more though. There's loads going on with Slave and it's obviously very complex electronic-wise, some have said over-complex and I can see where they're coming from there. My favourite version of the track is the "I'm Not Your Slave" remix from the UK CD single. The beat is quite funky and it's transformed into a trip-hop excursion and ultimately sounds more modern than the album version. Considering I don't really rate the OTP era stuff as musically brilliant, I give it between 6 and 7 out of 10. Hooky achieved so much more with Monaco Stuff like Junk from MFP blows Slave and pretty much most of what Revenge did out of the water, IMO of course :)

it´s a good track. i like others best but this one´s very good. i think it could have success nowadays where industrial electronic genres seem so popular in some places. and i don´t forget about the leather clothes either ;)
