i'm wondering if there's a place where i can find live performances on video of both Electronic and Monaco. I know Electronic have made one show in 91 (i think it was) in a festival but i've never saw that.... anyway, anything you think is worth, it will be appreciated.
i'm kind of new into this board, and since i've discorvered it, i keep loging and loging like crazy! :D :D
Tell me about it! I'm on the lookout for live stuff by Electronic too. Not OVERLY easy to find, by the looks of things. I guess you just have to know the right people. But if I ever get my hands on any of their six live shows, I'll let you know, Filmstardust.
I have a copy of Electronic's performance opening up for Depeche Mode in LA I think, late 1990. It's an audience recording and probably rates as a 7/10 for a bootleg. I'll see if I can find it and probably torrent it somewhere soon.

I think I have heard the live recording of the Electronic show as well...it is pretty horrible sounding.
I would give it a 4/10 in terms of quality. You can hear the people's conversations better than the performance.
One interesting tidbit about that gig, was that they performed, "Try all you want" without any vocals. I guess they were still testing the waters with that track.

Hmmm, just listening to it now and it isn't as bad as that. Only problem is the audience is most ordinary as they're waiting for Depeche Mode to come on. I'm gonna torrent this shortly over at http://www.purelivegigs.com so go and register.

In case you aren't familiar with Electronic, the band consists of Bernard Sumner, singer from New Order, and Johnny Marr, guitarist from The Smiths.
This is one of the first two live shows Electronic did when they opened for Depeche Mode on their Violator tour. The crowd wasn't really into it because the album wouldn't be released for many months and the only song people knew in the set was "Getting Away With It". Track three didn't have lyrics yet so it is an instrumental version. The Pet Shop Boys joined on stage for the two songs they recorded with Electronic (6 & 7).
It was recorded from around 20 rows from center stage and I haven't traded it much. I'd say it's about a 7 out of 10 but I'm not an expert on grading. It could certainly use some EQ but this is a straight transfer and I leave that up to the end user. I edited out most of the crowd noise preceding the encore.

Many thanks, Mofo Sapien! I downloaded the concert and figured out how to convert the tracks to .wma (it's not hard) and I think it's terrific. Pity the crowd keeps talking all the time (if Bernard Sumner and Johnny Marr, with Pet Shop Boys guesting, were debuting new material at a huge stadium, I don't think I'd be having a chat with someone personally), though the music is certainly louder. The instrumental verson of Try All You Want rocks my socks. Cheers!
Mofo, today i've finished downloading the whole show, and i think it was pretty amazing. the quality isn't that bad, and certainly is a must for every Electronic fan (as i am) thanks you, again!!!!!
i'd also like to place a request for any side projects soundboard or FM recordings.
i've enjoyed the Revenge "No Pain, No Gain" Live 1991 CD much more than i thought i ever would.
I think I have 2 electronic gigs.. (the Dodgers' Stadium in LA being one of them), but that's the only gigs they played or so... I have live footage of City In The Park with Electronic and Revenge.
And I believe I have 2 Monaco shows... and still waiting for Ally to send me others :D

it would be great Nic if you and/or Ally could somehow make a few of those hard to find Monaco shows available to those of us "in need."
I have the following live peformances by New Order side projects. These seem to be pretty hard to track down. I don't have time to make lots of copies but if there is some interest I may be able to make sure they get into the hands of those who would really enjoy them.

does anyone know if the cities in park sets were recorded completely + has a complete recording ever surfaced??? regarding revenge, there is a (pro) video recorded by german tv (their gig in cologne, live music hall)
am downloading the gig mentioned now from purelivegigs, so join the club now if you want to get a copy. when I have a full copy I will also seed.
also interested in anything live from any of the offshoot bands, I have New Order gigs to trade in return.

yes would like to hear that, however aside from a few live N.O. gigs this year bootlegged (new york & coachella) I only have that Electronic LA gig really to trade.
I have loads of older N.O. gigs however.

I saw Electronic at Wembley Exhibiton Centre in 91. It was a good show and was supported by Stereo MC's. Electronic started with Soviet and Pet Shop Boys came on for 3 songs.
Just down the road (at Wembley Arena) a certain Gary Glitter was playing. I dont think you could have got 2 more deverse set of fans walking back to the tube station that night.
