I acually quite like this song :ignore: Its obviously quite poppy, but all the other two stuff is quite a nice change - good to see another side of the band members. Gillian is a very good signer and although the keyboard part is a bit dated, I like this song. But i've been bought up on alt music perhaps the teenage girl in me is crying out for some pop. :baby: :shades:

YOu know, I never noticed that before! but you are right - there are definitly male vocals in the background. Sounds good actually!

BTW, there's nothing wrong with 'poptastic' light music, if its done well. IMO this is a great track, simple, light, summery; and it doesn't get on your nerves after multiple listens.

The Other Two & You has a nice 3 or 4 song e.p. inside of it, not sure why they felt the urge to stretch it to album length... the production by Hague is on autopilot ... blaaannnnddddd overall...

I too bought Raise the Pressure and got rid of it quickly in disgust... then bought it again later and liked alot of it and I actually like it the best of the three now...

I guess all the members all seemed to want to tackle middle of the road pop in the 90s, probably the one challenge left to them, they had been indie for over a decade... :shrug:

Teehee - the benefits of insight from a fresh ear! After numerouis careful listens I'm sure they are there - most likely Stephen - I don't see why not.

Also I'm scared to ask - after scrutinising the sleevenotes and trying to seperate fact from fiction - who sings female vocals on someone like you? I'm stumped and I think I joined as a topic on that very subject was around but I couldn't find it again. Please don't yell at me - who is it?

No one is TOTALLY sure, but in interviews, the band have said that it is Dawn Zee - even though she is only credited on tracks 1,9,10. Bits of it sound like they could be Gillian, BUT the OohOhhOoh bits (at around 4 minutes & 5 minutes) sounds suspiciously like Dawn.

The single "Tasty Fish" was named after the chip shop on the A6 in the Grand Central Leisure Park, Stockport, England. The name was spotted in the short trip back home from Manchester one day and then later remembered when the song was being recorded.
