Although the debut Electronic album will always be my favourite (for its great yet simple pop tunes, guitar and keyboards, and Barney trying a different direction), I think Twisted Tenderness has some of Barneys finest lyrics.
The first album covers the usual familiar themes of relationships gone wrong, but also has statements made in Idiot Country and Feel Every Beat.
Raise The Pressure seems entirely obsessed with failed relationships to the point where the lyrics are repetitive and too obvious.
But Twisted Tenderness covers the worlds troubles, a Prodigal son (who has lost his way), and a few other themes. I get the impression that Barney had a lot of help with the lyrics, due to there being more depth. There are more imagery to the lyrics and its the only NO/Electronic album to feature the lyrics on the inlay card (they must have been proud boys!).
That's cos RTP was done on Prozac, made Barney even more melancholic than he already was! 
The best b-sides come from these sessions though.
