Just seen this on e bay. Anybody know why it was withdrawn>? I actually thought it was a good track. Also what is everyones favourite track off Twisted Tenderness. I have to go for Flicker just ahead of When She's Gone.
Electronic - Late at Night

Basically, Late At Night was cancelled because the record label (Parlophone/EMI) didn't think it would chart well. A UK CD1+2 set, 12" and European 5 track Maxi-CD were manufactured but only the EU Maxi got a proper release which is the one in this auction.
A promotional video for the single was also filmed with Barney and Johnny observing a group of hooligans on a night out harrassing people, it ends with a group of female strippers flushing the holligans' heads down the loo ![]()
I really rate Twisted Tenderness but I thought LAN was a crap choice for a single. As a straight ahead rock track it's ok but neither strong nor different enough to make people sit up and listen. They would have been much better off releasing Make It Happen or Prodigal Son, both standout tracks with an experimental edge. The cancelled Late At Night single hides two gems of the TT era; Warning Sign and Make It Happen (Darren Price remix). The former is a great b-side which I've never heard a bad word about and the latter is a cool as fcuk remix of a "should have been" single ![]()
I agree with you on Flicker and When She's Gone. Two of the better tracks. (aside from the immediate pop appeal of Vivid and the title track) TT is a great album that has really held up well over the years, even though at first I couldn't get into it.

Actually, on a side issue, all 3 side projects had withdrawn singles back in 1999:
Electronic - Late At Night Monaco - I've Got A Feeling/See Saw Other Two - You Can Fly
I guess that one of the main reasons why some/all of the above were withdrawn was the reformation of New Order that occurred during the promotion of these side projects - i.e. suddenly promotion wasn't very important, but New Order suddenly was?
Late at night was one of my fave Electronic songs... Please God let the BSides be on the best of Electronic release...!
guess ebay know there stuff and could not stand by and let such a classic bit of vinyl go for £1.70! as for the tunes 'when shes gone' all the way for me, but i also liked 'haze' especially the remix on the 'vivid' single. And know i think about it 'make it happen rocks'! bound to be off the mark but i feel the chem bros heard that and thought 'theres are man for out of control'
