I love to be 'Getting Away With It'!!!

Alright, this is how you know I'm slower than the average bear.

While I'm all woohaw! and stuff over The Other Two and [recently] Monaco, I hadn't easily tuned myself in to Electronic... until one Saturday night I went out clubbing and they actually played 'Getting Away With It' and I fell in love with it! The only problem was, at the time, no one said who did what so, I was lost in the dark about it.

Then today I did the lyric hunt, and found the song. Finally! So, I can happily say I am 'Getting Away With It'!!

Bad joke, I know, but I love the song!!!

Before you know it you'll be seeking out all their collaborations and productions next. I've just recently scored the Ad Infinitum 7 inch 'Telstar' which was Peter Hook and the Stockholm Monsters' effort.

It's sort of addictive. Just when you think you have heard everything they have done, you'll find something else and be blindsided or amused. :evil:

I can only imagine it was a retro night.. but having the song as part of your kit seems a bit weird. I would have much more expected Disappointed (808 mix) or maybe some of the stuff from RTP.

Nope, it was actually 80's alternative night, and they play all sorts of stuff like Pet Shop Boys and New Order and the Smiths and the Human League and Depeche Mode , as well as the slightly more not so known sort like Heaven 17 and Rita Mitsouko or Mitsuoko or however the name's spelt. When you have the likes of Barney, Marr and Tennant, and with the year being '89, yep, you KNOW the DJ's gonna play that song sometime sooner or later, like, before you die and whatnot.

Now that's the kind of 80's night I wouldn't mind going to. The last one I went to was nothing but the most obvious pop...Cyndi Lauper, Michael Jackson and LOTS of Madonna.

That is the song that that actually stopped me from further investigating the side projects for many years.

I have since corrected that mistake.

Michael Jackson: 'Thriller'. Once a year. Halloween. 'Nuff said.

And Madonna: ...waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy too mainstream to be alternative. She's not even alternative to begin with!
