Well what can I say?? AMAZING night.

Met up with Jemmie & Friend,Jeanette,Kershie,Minxie,Jert & friend beforehand and once I got in HARD ROCK CAFE thought,SHITE have I been ripped off,it's a better view for £12!!

Ah but the night turned out to be as SURREAL as you can get! Not only did VIP get u a spot directly over the stage, with a private bar,a waitress came over witha buffet of burgers and chickeny things. Oh did I say that I met ANDY ROURKE (Smiths) and Nigel Pivaro (Coronation StreeT) up there?

Oh and a stairway that leads to backstage of gig where MINXIE dragged me up dancing mid-Monaco!!Met up with Nick King,Alan Kitching and Ally upstairs, good meeting u.

OH! What's That? You wanted to know about MONACO and wish Monty would shut up?

MONACO were fantastic!!! Opening with INSIGHT with vocals by ROWETTA (HAPPY MONDAYS,X FACTOR),but pinch me as if this wasn't happening what do I hear.......? AGE OF FOOKING CONSENT and SUNRISE that's what I hear!!

Oh did I say they were backed by another fine bassist.....JACK!! He was bloody great, didn't put a foot wrong,we all were saying that considering this was his first major gig what a good job he did.

Oh and they played SHINE and WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME? too.Outstanding!!

Got to meet them later, plus Rowetta on mezzanine floor. I'm still buzzing! Photos coming up.......

gents it was a truly dogs bollox evening, after a good set by pottsy (haveyou got the album yet it damn fine!)the joy of hearing age of consent and sunrise is just amazing and even better for being in a small venue that was not overpacked..you wouldnt imagine rowette sings joy division would be good but it was and superb to hear the top monaco tunes.

Lets hope this happens again and if barney decides to hang up his mike for a couple of years i'd be happy to hear the old stuff sung by pottsy if its like that. Whoever has taped it please get the link up asap!!!!

Quality night from start to finish - good to hear Age Of Consent and Sunrise - there's two tunes that would sound good in a New Order set! :)

Nice to meet up with everyone, including Monty, Minx, Ally, Jem, Clayhead, Liam, JAK, Alan Kitching, Alex, John, and loads more that I've forgotten (apologies in advance, I've got a crap memory)! Oh, Terry Duckworth and Andy Rourke - neither of whom I plucked up the courage to say hi to, even though Andy Rourke was sat next to me for a good half hour (up in the VIP seats)!

Anyway, after a grand total of 4 hours kip, and 3.5 hours train journey, I've got sa full day's work ahead (luckily from home!), so wish me luck...

Superb night, just wish the trains ran later or would have made a proper night of it. Looks like the after party was good :(

The whole gig from start to finish was brilliant, the size of the venue was spot on and you had no problem being served (which, as you know is my main priority).

I can also confirm that JAK/King (Not so) Honest John is a 100% pedigree scouser  Free entry, free burger...

Good turn out from NOOL too. I think Jert got photo's of us with Hooky and Andy Rourke. (And Terry Duckworth :uhoh: )

Jack, you looked really natural up there, especially considering it was your first major live gig. What a way to start your music career, watch this space

Spoke to Pottsy too, phwoooooar!

All in all a great night out :thumb:

The night was f***ing excellent and worth every penny. A cracking set from Hooky and Pottsy of JD/NO and Monaco stuff I've never heard live before, excellent banter with everyone I was gradually getting p***ed as a fart with - Jem, Monty, Kershy, Minx, Nick King, Clayhead, Jack, Ally, Liam, Hooky, Pottsy, Nigel 'Terry Duckworth' Pavaro, Andy Rouke and everyone else I my booze addled hung over head can't remember at the moment and will post my pics on here ASAP

Nick King wrote: , after a grand total of 4 hours kip, and 3.5 hours train journey, I've got sa full day's work ahead (luckily from home!), so wish me luck...

I know how you feel Nick in work til' 9pm tonight after boozing with Minx and Monty until 3:30am and being up since 7am I'm absolutely f***ed. Still worth a it was well worth a bit of sleep deprivation and a b******'s of a hang over to see Hooky and co. in action. Cheers!:thumb:

Time for a sober reply, Thanks to Monty for being a great escort for the evening, happily going to the bar for me and pointing out who was who, all this at the same time as keeping me amused by the fact that he was as giddy as a kipper with everything that was going on.

Not much to add to what has been said already, sneaking to the back of the stage was a coup and I didn't even mind sharing my beer with the drummer in between songs...poor soul was gasping:beer:

A little disappointed that Monty was rather hesitant with the on stage dancing.. though with hindsight this was probably a good thing as it would have prob only taken slight egging on for me to end up doing rolly-pollys

Jack was fantastic and I have so much respect for him for making his debut appearance to so many people:bow: my drunken comment on the fact that you have massive balls to do that still stands kid:thumb:

Meeting everyone old faces and new was why I went and again the noolers did not disappoint with some 'interesting' conversation's on subjects as varied as neighbours:rolleyes: music, drinking tales and arable farming techniques*

Honorable mentions to Jert and friend for keeping the party going:beer2: and the best/worst phoning in sick conversation I've ever heard in my life!

* ok so I made that last one up...my memory is a bit hazy about all discussions but I do remember laughing stupidly on many an occasion

Yes Ron I was drunk..would have been churlish not to be in such good company:lol:

And the Liam boob thing was a simple exchange..I asked if I could have a grab of his manboobs and he said only if he could have a grab at mine..fair enough:laugh:
