When I saw Electronic play Wembley Exhibition Hall way back in '91 they had a live band set up.
Does anyone know who they are or what they went onto do?
(Obviously I know about Marr/Tennant/Lowe).

Was Jimi Goodwin playing bass with them at that time? He's now in Doves, natch.
Backing singer Astrid Williamson was in Goya Dress, and has now gone solo.
Some bloke called Andy Robinson did a few keyboards for them too, no idea what he's up to now... :)

Yup, Andy Robinson would have been there for those first few Electronic gigs. Not too sure about the rest of the live band circa '90 but David Palmer (ex ABC) and Donald Johnson (ACR) are both credited with drums on the debut LP.
Jimi Goodwin (Doves) arrived around the Raise The Pressure era on bass (can clearly be seen on TV footage) and hung around for Twisted Tenderness. Same goes for Ged Lynch (ex Black Grape) who took over the drums.
Phil Cunningham joined around Twisted Tenderess as I definitely recall seeing him play guitar when Electronic did "Haze" on Jo Whiley's C4 show. Phil's name isn't on Twisted Tenderness so I doubt he played in the studio whereas Jimi and Ged did.
Astrid Williamson (phwoar 
) did backing vocals on a number of Twisted Tenderness tracks (Vivid, When She's Gone etc)... she might've also appeared with them when they played Vivid on TFI Friday in '99.

Yup, Donald Johnson (DoJo) played live with them (at least he did at the "Cities In The Park" gig) - he's still playing with ACR at the moment.

Actually what is he up to now? Not much management required I wouldn't have thought!
Their CITIES IN THE PARK gig,Donald Johnson was on drums,Denise Johnson lent some vocals,and Johnny Marr's younger bro,Ian played some keyboards.
Just got hold of the 21 Dec 91 issue of NME... S'got a review of the Glasgow gig, which pretty much indicates that the European tour had the same line-up as Cities In the Park, minus the guesting Denise Johnson.
So, it was Marr and Sumner + Andy Robinson, Ian Marr, Donald Johnson and Kesta Martinez. Two keys, two percs.

What do you think Bernard will do now? Does he have any projects in the works? Just want to keep up since everyone is going there separate ways.

Electronic's probably a bit of a question mark with Johnny Marr becoming a full time touring member of Modest Mouse. It's not clear whether Marr would have the time or inclination to bring Electronic out of hibernation although in an interview from 2006 he didn't rule out further collaboration with Barney.
There were rumours of a collaboration with Alex James (bassist from Blur) a couple of weeks ago but nothing official's materialised yet.

New Order frontman Bernard Sumner has announced he is to collaborate with a young theatre company for people with learning difficulties.
The Bernard Sumner/So Many Words collaboration will result in a showcase theatre work entitled 'Shimmer', performed by The Studio Theatre in Salford, Greater Manchester on May 15.
So Many Words is based at Oakwood Youth Club, Salford and funded by Arts Council NorthWest.
'Shimmer' uses original music to explore characters, relationships and fantasy, and will take on themes from Chinese folklore, animals and nature.
Doubt it's the sort of thing you'll be able to buy in a record shop or off iTunes but good for 'im nonetheless
Does anyone know what Bernard's next project will be? Hooky already has new projects in the works. I know people need vacations, just want to keep up with everyone's projects.:)
