On september 3rd you will be able to buy a special digital version of Electronic's debut album on iTunes. You can already pre-order it today, and the track list is as follows:

1. Idiot Country (1994 Digital Remaster)2. Reality (1994 Digital Remaster)3. Tighten Up (1994 Digital Remaster)4. The Patience of a Saint (1994 Digital Remaster)5. Getting Away With It (1994 Digital Remaster)6. Gangster (1994 Digital Remaster)7. Soviet (1994 Digital Remaster)8. Get the Message (1994 Digital Remaster)9. Try All You Want (1994 Digital Remaster)10. Some Distant Memory (1994 Digital Remaster)11. Feel Every Beat (1994 Digital Remaster)1. Lucky Bag2. Free Will (7' Edit)3. Feel Every Beat (7' Remix)4. Lean to the Inside5. Second to None6. Disappointed (Original Mix)7. Disappointed (7' Mix)8. Feel Every Beat (DNA Remix)9. Disappointed (12' Remix)10. Lucky Bag (Miami Edit)11. Nothing unreleased and nothing that wasn't available on CD...

Ah well...

If you've got iTunes (UK) installed, you can see the release here.

Not a bad idea I suppose but again it's a missed opportunity to collect non-CD rarities like the seven inches of Lucky Bag and Idiot Country Two as well as the vinyl Feel Every Beat dubs. The 7" Edit of Free Will as well? :brow: If there's one track that deserves to be heard in its entirety....

It is good to see iTunes offering higher quality M4A DRM-free files these days. The original file quality (128) was always atrocious. I might download one or two tracks off the "second disc" to see if they've been given the remaster treatment; wouldn't put money on it though.

If they give Raise The Pressure the Special Edition treatment in the near future and include all the UTEOT mixes I'll be well impressed!

Cool beans. :) How many of these were available before? As far as I can remember only GAWI, GTM and the first album were available, Factory-era wise...

I take this back as iTunes don't seem to be offering the Special Edition Electronic album in iTunes Plus format :nonono:

Usual shitty DRM-ridden low quality audio then, what a waste.

P.S. The second "disc" doesn't sound remastered from the Second To None I downloaded.

My advice is stick to the CDs and vinyl, boys and girls.

Well it seems like Electronic have decided to release a lot more that just the debut album:

Raise the pressure (with b-sides) Vivid (with prodigal son remixes) Getting away with it EP Get the message EP Feel every beat EP For you EP Second nature EP & le grand surprise Until the end of time EP

Very nice of them to do that...:)

Despite the lack of unreleased stuff, Electronic fans who haven't had the chance to hear the 'Until The End Of Time' remixes from 1997 will definitely be interested in some of what iTunes has released today.

Click here if you have iTunes installed.

Unfortunately they are only available in the original low quality / DRM iTunes format and not the new iTunes Plus / non-DRM format but hey, it's only 2 quid for all four.

Hadn't spotted "Until the end of time" on there-something I never got first time round...

There were also promo CD-R's for most (if not all) of the above digital releases...

Just spent a fortune on most of them, including:

Electronic (2xCDR) Raise The Pressure (2xCDR) Twisted Tenderness (2xCDR) Getting Away With it (CDR) For You (CDR) Feel Every Beat (CDR)

Hmmm... Wonder if there are any out there for the other EPs?

were these the vinyl-only mixes that were released back then? I seem to recall there never was an official cd release of these for some reason.

do you think the sound quality good enough on mp3 to justify buying this?

I think lossy mp3 formats should be avoided particularly if your main collection is in cd format.

i picked up the 'until the end of time' (CDR).. at first i thought it might have been a cheap cdr copy, but the seller had good credentials/ratings, and listening to it now..it's real enough...

i never got the original one from the mailing list, but i have a duplicate of it, and will do a comparison with this one to see if its the same..

I won the other three he was selling (Get The Message, Second Nature & Vivid) which brings my own grand total to 12 CDrs. I did bid quite a large amount for the UTEOT one - probably should have bid that bit more as it seems to be the only one I'm missing from the set - but fair play as you were obviously willing to go that extra er, cent.

I have since added the CDrs + scans to Discogs.com for anyone who is interested in seeing what they're about (pretty plain really):

The tracks don't really sound remastered and there are obvious mastering glitches/tracklisting inaccuracies on them as per most hastily assembled promo CDrs.

Nice one EMI
