Yes, that's Hooky singing indeed...I believe you can also watch the music video for this here on NOOL, as well as on YouTube. Not the worst song I've ever heard in my life, but I would certainly rate Monaco as a better side project than Revenge.
I really like Hooky's vocals on Pineapple Face. I think he has a really nice voice.

Me too... had a lot of fun when it first came out in 90. I thought it sounded like an odd mixture of the Pettibone remix of True Faith (the beats) and Fine Time (the synth bassline and the vocals).
I played the single to death when it came out. Think it sounds quite dated now.
Still think 7 Reasons is one of the best songs New Order never released!
Well Pinapple Face plus a lot of the Revenge synthetic tracks haven't dated brilliantly as to be fair it's been a good 18 years since they were recorded. The album version of Slave does tend to clatter along like a demonstration piece of all the various sequencers and drum machines of the time but having said that a few remixes did bring out the best from those tracks I reckon; particularly Ron St. Germain's club mix of PF and Bobby Simmons' I'm Not Your Slave.
Didn't Hooky later admit in interview some of the Revenge stuff was over-complex because he couldn't bear to throw any part away in case someone - anyone - liked it?
To his credit though, Gun World Porn has dated pretty well considering it's 17 years old now. PF may be a little kitsch these days but the 6 minute State Of Shock still packs a punch so I'd advise the original poster to check out FACD327.
For me, Revenge were at their best when they were doing the "Technique-y" sounding guitar tracks like Big Bang, It's Quiet, 14K and State of Shock. They're quality. The keyboard laden stuff is very much of it's time.
Gary Clail's Deadbeat is quite good too, actually...
Big Bang has to be my all time favourite Revenge track; there´s an ACE bass + guitar solo in the middle, wich isn´t featured on the One True Passion V2.0 version. Mr. Hook at his very best
The tunes aren't dated at all, sometimes the lyrics and singing leaves a little to be desired, probably why Monaco was much tighter and more successful on those fronts.

To me it sounds a little bit dated...
From the drum beats to the house piano chords they're clearly synonymous with that early nineties "dance" sound. Other tracks such as Bleachman and Kiss the Chrome have the same sort of vibe going on in them. No bad thing but they do sound "of the era" a bit.
As I said, the Revenge tunes with more traditional band instrumentation have aged far better IMO.

"Pineapple face" was Panama's General Noriega's nickname (aparently given to him by CIA's officials or something...). The song itself, of course, has nothing to do with central-american politics...
I nearly start laughing whenever I hear the title Pineapple Face. (Just because it sounds strange and doesn't seem to have much to do with the lyrics.) Anyway, I like their song 'Slave', especially the part at the end.
i havent listened to revenge in donkeys years, to be honest i thought they were pretty pish. just a stop gap till the real deal got back together, unfortunately they did and they released a pretty shite album as well.
A Spotted a copy of "No Pain, No Gain" for a tenner in a local 'record' shop.

Only if you're a die hard Hooky / Revenge fan I would honestly say.
The quality of the recording is very good and there's a decent version of Dreams Never End included but I can't say I've played the CD to death personally.
If Revenge is your bag then you'll probably be chuffed with it.
I like the music of Pineapple Face quite a bit. I'm not as keen on the vocals. They're OK, though. Would be nice to see a Revenge remaster.
I've always liked this tune but I agree that this and most of One True Passion sounded pretty much dated sounded by the time it was released.
I don't think Peter was really sure what he wanted, to sound different from New Order or similar, to sound like the then current house scene or be more rock.
