...and they've launched a YouTube channel with that mix of Innocence:

That's odd... their original channel is still there

Could this be the start of some kind of campaign for new material? Hard to believe

Hard to believe, indeed.

My understanding was that two of the tracks off Music Complete, "Stray Dog" and "The Game", originated from music by Gillian and Stephen. It's likely they have other song ideas that weren't pursued. And they certainly could have been working on tracks since. But why now? It's heartening to think if this reissue does well, they would be emboldened to put new material out. But this reissue without extra tracks is a hard sell for me. And honestly, their second album is much better.

Although I'm really pleased that this is getting a reissue (with a bonus track, to boot!), I can't help but rue the missed opportunity to not include some other rare tracks. Maybe some of the rarer remixes or, better still, some of the other soundtrack work that didn't make the LP.

I probably won't be getting this on vinyl, and the fact that it was only reissued in 2020 on CD, kind of puts me off buying it again on CD.

But, I probably will. Maybe if it sells well, the two of them might be tempted to release more stuff (including new material).

Looking at the NO Store, there appears to be a 'Free Fortune Teller Tasty Fish' with all pre-orders. Wonder what that is. Probably an OT-branded version one of those fish you used to get in Christmas crackers.

Sorry, Mr D. I missed that you'd already included the comment about the Fortune Telling Fish in your original post.

Whilst we're on the subject of rare OT stuff, anyone have a copy of the following:

Tasty Fish (OT Mix - 7" version) (3:37, from the 7" & cassette - not the longer version from the 12" and CD single) You Can Fly (Single Version) (4:19, from the withdrawn CD2 single)

I'm guessing the second one is rare, but the first one is pretty common. I do have it on cassette but don't have the means to play it anymore.

If anyone can supply a rip of either, I'd be very grateful.

Hmmm - looks like the 3:37 OT Mix is going to be on the RSD limited edition 12".

Never had the U Can Fly CD single. I have the Tasty Fish 7" but I'm unable to play it.

I might have the 7" myself, as well as the tape. But, again, I don't have a way of playing either.

Hopefully someone's ripped it.

As regards the 2 x 'You Can Fly' CDs, I think they were withdrawn (not sure why), so there are very few out there in the wild. I do have a copy of the "super Highways' CD single though.

Nice to see you posting, Rocket Mick!

That's a shame your CD writer is out of action. Would be nice to get that mix.

I know what you mean re losing NO stuff. There's a few items of mine I can't quite find anymore. Not least of which are my old bootleg tapes that had some rare interviews that I'd love to find.

Innocence is one of my favorite tracks on the album. I wish they were leaving the original and adding the new Love To Infinity mix as a bonus, instead of a replacement.

Might be able to assist here if still interested.

I have the cassette and 7” plus CD promo Mick mentioned. I’ll have the tracks ripped to hard drive somewhere.

Also have Part 1 of the recalled You Can Fly CD-singles – but Part 2 has eluded me for 30 years :)

That would be great; thanks in advance! Remembering the Quake Vocal Mix appeared on this CD:

Just pre-ordered the remastered TOT&U. Hopefully it won't take six months to arrive [blackeye]

That would be excellent, if you could find them!

When i saw the words Gig Of The Day, just for the briefest of moments I thought wait, are they...? Oh no they're not. But anyway this is tonight if you're in the Manchester area.

Totally agree. I was close to buying on vinyl (maybe I still am) but that new mix of Innocence puts me off

Must admit I've been struggling to muster the enthusiasm for this latest TOT&Y reissue. I think this is the third. The second Factory Benelux one felt like yesterday but was apparently 4 years ago now (!) 70 quid for both new formats and a t-shirt is... yeah, not really winning me just now. That will probably change closer to release date, though.

I do like a nice slice of New Order-infused '90s synthpop but like one or two others have commented, messing with one of the "key" tracks and replacing the artwork seems a tad unnecessary. Innocence is a lovely little pop song in original mix form. I like the Love To Infinity remix, but as an accompaniment.

I guess this time around it's more about the vinyl as the original pressing is so scarce. That said, I have noted more copies than usual for sale on Discogs since this reissue was announced. Sellers presumably trying to offload them before the market is flooded with pristine new copies. I have an original in storage but I've not laid eyes on it in quite some time.

Am slightly baffled they didn't go "all in" and offer a limited run of Super Highways on vinyl for the first time. That definitely would've enticed me to open my e-wallet. A 2CD version mopping up remixes of the era including the complete Innocence Qwest 12"? Take my money etc.

Vinyl pressings of Super Highways, the second two Electronic albums and both Monaco efforts would surely sell like hot cakes in today's coloured-vinyl-obsessive market.

Thanks. As I initially thought, it appears to be one of those novelty items we used to get in Christmas Crackers over here in the UK (probably elsewhere too).

Here's a bit of an explanation:

I'm listening this album right now. Reissued /remastered in 2010, 2020, I think there's nothing to remaster /reissue again. I will get easily this Innocence new edit and will not buy this CD for the 4th time...

Got an email yesterday that my bundle has shipped - Vinyl, CD, "Selfish" t-shirt, and the little fortune teller "Tasty Fish." Lets see how long it takes to get to San Francisco.

I probably didn’t notice this on pre-order but, nonetheless, I was a little disappointed that the CD is in a card sleeve rather than a proper CD case.
