So, I'm now the Avatar police :p

If any avatar is too wide, or too tall, I will force a resize on them.

But now, you can do it yourself, in your account options, there is now an option to preview your avatar and to set size in width and height.

Those are client resize, mean the picture if 500 kb will be 500 kb even if you resize it to 1 pixel per 1 pixel.

Also, notice that if you don't enter a height, but enter a width, your browser will display the picture in the right proportion.

If you click on "Preview" and no height/width is entered, you will be able to click on the "Evaluate" button, which will calculate the real one for you... so you can adjust it properly.

Typically, width of 125 pixels is the maximum you can have, and I've limited it to 300 pixels in height.

Have fun.

Ummmmmm....don't wanna sound too much like an arse to a good old scool NOOLer such as tourself sir, but there was a thread dedicated to this very subject. ;)

Just do as the Savior didi and provide a web link in your web profile.

Then go listen to the PARDISE demo and be happy...cuz that is kinda funny!!! (& because it's what I'm listening to at this moment...and thus it is on my mind)

You cannot post a weblink to your harddisk. The picture you want to use as your avatar must be available somewhere on the internet. Then you can use it as your avatar by typing its URL in the avatar form.

Not necessarily. You can also upload it to a web account like Angelfire.com (seems to work better than Geocities with hotlinks) and then write the URL in the field in your profile.
