Moderator Please Help?

Please help me, I need to remove my name from a forum post. It was started Wed, Jun 18 2003 - 9:14:07 AM by His Holiness The Pope and is about his "619th Post", replied to by Tristan Jayolat on Wed, Jun 18 2003 - 6:05:25 PM and again on Wed, Jun 18 2003 - 6:05:43 PM. It's all good that these members acknowledge all the members etc, but unfortunately it includes my name, and I am not too happy with this. I am not entirely pleased that my name is included in this post, as it appears in google search etc. I would like my privacy respected. I have written to "His Holiness The Pope" to kindly request that he remove my name from this post too. I have had no reply. Please please please could a Moderator remove my name... I would write my name again, but fear that it will reappear again! I would be very appreciative if someone could help me out here? Please PM me if you are a moderator who is able to assist, and I will gladly provide you with my name for removal. I hope that it can be remedied asap? Please. I don't want all the names removed, just mine...!

What is the problem? You didn't subscribe to a nazi nor a pedophile forum. Most people who find your name with google will not even understand what NOOL is about. But it's up to you.

Hi Ally, yes I did appear when she searched me, and I was on NOOL. I used to use my full name back then. I replied to it, because I presumed I was writing on this post... I know it's an odd request, but I really really really would like my name removed from that page. Please could you tell me who Jeff is? Hi Nick, It's not that she disapproves of New Order, Joy Division, Electronic or the other incarnates of Barney, Stephen and Hooky et al. It's just I was listed on the NOOL website, and it came as a surprise; after all it was back in 2003, and I thought that the point of becoming a member was to show one's appreciation of the music, either by writing on forums about the music or using the facilities to discover and learn more about the band(s). I have not written on the forum ever since 2003, I feel that this is my last resort, having written many times to the webmaster and moderators. I have had no response to date; hence me starting a new Topic of : Moderator Help Please?! in order to gain a reply to my numerous requests to remove my name only from that thread....

Sorry, I don't get your problem - how is your name on a forum (which doesn't identify you in anyway) an issue?

Burt, Nick It was not intended as an egotistic request, nor was it characteristic of an inflated idea of my own importance above other members on NOOL. I apologise if it appeared that way. I only request that my name be removed from a page. This was a matter of privacy which the Moderator respected and kindly obliged.

NB. NOOL Privacy Policy states: In a nutshell, we won't spam you or giveaway your personal information to anyone without your consent. But you may want to read the fine details but the bottom line is that we're committed to protecting your privacy because we know that without that, there can't be any trust between us within this community.

My point being that I was easily identifiable from my name. I have a unique name, which ironically did not help. My full name was posted without my permission; which was a privacy issue, regardless of the benevolent act of the author. I reserve the right for my name not to made public. Also, being a victim of online identity theft, though not from here, this has warranted similar actions elsewhere. I hope this answers your question? Suffice to say it ceases your curiosity. The Moderator has kindly removed my full name from those posts, to which I am very grateful.
