What if NO had continued writing in the direction of Movement instead of PCL?

If Movement was New Order's only album, I would never liked New Order. Honestly, the only reason why I listen to the album is because it is New Order. Actually, I just played my cassette tape of Movement the other night before I went to sleep, and unlike other albums, it didn't move me nor made me sing.

I know there are a number of Movement diehards here, but that is my opinion.

Movement is a great album but the shadow of Joy Division is heavily upon it. Personally I prefer the Low Life era and after....

They were still in a JD mindset with this album, but the problem was they could never be Joy Division again. I think it's the closest to a third Joy Division album we ever got, so for that reason it's an interesting if rather underwhelming album. They needed to move on and find their own sound and they did that with the Blue Monday single.
