I bring this up because I've had my share of office flirtations in the past (because as you can see from my picture, I am one hot stud), but this time it's not about me. :D

There's another dramatic break-up at the ole Winn-Dixie this week between one of our many "young couples that work together, love together". And the situation up front couldn't be better...if by "better" you mean "he accuses her of cheating and she denies it all while they ring up groceries". Yep, that good.

Anyway, what are the chances YOU would have an office romance? I think it depends on the girl: if it's someone special, I have to try.....and make a fool of myself, causing uncomfortable tension for weeks on end. But hell, it's worth it, right? :nervous:

Unfortunately it has not happened yet. All the pretty, intelligent and girls of good taste seem to be on NOOL and half a world away.

Sometimes you cant help you fall in love with:love2: .Kinda like being attractive to somebody that is totally wrong for you.

I would try to avoid office romances but sometimes the heart comes before the mind.

The curse of my life.

Wait...you meant "attracted to," not "attractive to," didn't you? Whatever, I guess both apply to me...

I don't have this dilema in a steel mill with 200 hairy arsed steel workers:laugh: Though I did start up a relationship with a girl in a pub we worked in about 12 years ago,I just hear tales of office party debauchary from others these days:shades:  I'm missing something ar'nt I?

Lusting after/flirting with co-workers is great, but doing anything more is way too dangerous.

I did say seem sorry, Tinny Ok next time I'll come to Sydney to raid your record shops, or for a concert, we could meet up. It'll be a while though.

I wouldnt flirt with anyone at my workplace, either to old or too young.

Depends.

If you see your coworker/significant other every day at the job and THEN at home, it would get quite old. It's good to have space from each other. Otherwise it can become too suffocating.

Flirting and fooling around is okay, been there and done that. But taking it a step further is kinda risque. Proceed with utmost caution. :evil4:

On the upside, breaking up with somebody you are required to spend every day with does wonders for your job performance. :thumb:

And sanity. :nonono: :nonono: :nonono:

Indeed, sir, indeed. Say, have you seen my new friends? The Martian princess and her elephant pals were dead-set on taking me dancing in their all-new gold limosine! :wtf:

Had a couple of opportunities to date co-workers in the past but never followed through. Currently there are 3 co-workers I'd like to get busy with :love2: (but won't- see final sentence) but 2 are living with their boyfriend and the 3rd is a lesbian but you'd never know it from looking at her. We (all 3) do go out for beers after work sometimes so it's somewhat like a date except without the romance. Apart from that I wouldn't because I'm happily married but I still like to window shop. :D

I married a work colleague, who I met through work! We don't work together now but I'm glad we did!

Considering I work alone, it would be difficult:evil4:

Not impossible, but difficult:scratch: :confused2:

(looking in mirror) "Oh, hi. Yeah, I just got here...what? Oh, yeah, it's a new shirt...yeah, I don't like the color, but it seems to work well with my slacks."

(pause) "So, do you have any plans for lunch?...just a little yogurt, eh? Sounds like somebody's on a diet!.......I'm sorry, I didn't..."

(awkward silence) "Em, do you have the files on the Jones account?...I really am sorry. You look great...not that I'm sexually harassing you...please don't misconstrue my words...I think you're overreacting"

Did you fart?

Do I need to explain once more? Ok. I will because maybe I wasn't clear enough. If I could, I would like to have an office romance with 1 of 3 (or all 3) fine, sexy and lucious ladies I work with. Unfortunately, 2 are living with their boyfriends, and the 3rd is a L-E-S-B-I-A-N which means she has no sexual interest in men. Where I work, you can tell the lesbians from the straight women by their butch, mullet haircuts and tatoos. This fine young speciman I am refering to is a beautiful, fit, sweet hottie  who makes your pants tight just looking at her. You'd never suspect she was playing for the other team. We are good friends, however, and hang out, drink, shop for music, work, and talk on the phone and email. A big plus is that she is a New Order fan who until she met me thought all there was to New Order was the Substance 1987 CD's. That's all changed and she loves them even more now, thanks to me. :D

I hope this clears things up for you.

Well, if she ever decides to be a "switch-hitter", you're probably in a good position to......introduce her to the lunk-headed male model that she'll sleep with :evil4:

Here I am, thinking I'm all cool and mysterious with my affections for my current stalking object...I mean, object of my affection (she knows I like her, but I haven't been saying much to anyone else about it), and today a mutual friend of mine said that she (the friend) could tell I liked her (the girl I like, not the friend). :faint:

All this makes me wonder: do I have no future as a belivable actor :(

Anyway, I just hope her boyfriend doesn't notice..... :nervous:

I don't see any problem with it as long as it doesn't affect work performance.

Done it before and I'd do it again...

I've never had the chance; everywhere I've worked has been mostly made up of women or guys who are way too old for me. I might consider it if the opportunity came up, though.

Too much of a headache. Then you have to clean up all the shit the consequences bring with it.

No way. Besides, it's illegal. :nonono:

I think it's only illegal if your carrying on with your supervisor or such. Co-worker romances in of themselves aren't illegal unless it's specifically banned in your place of work.

Office dating is not illegal. Even if a supervisor is dating an employee. What is illegal is sexual harassment, so any supervisor who dates an employee is an arse just asking for a lawsuit. That's why companies don't allow it.

Update: If a non-supervisory employee sexually harasses another employee, the company becomes liable for subsequent harassment once it is put on notice that the employee has been harassed.

If she's laughing hysterically following your attempt at seduction, you have a defense. :evil4:

OK, as long as you have an alternative offer of employment.

Seeing as how I work at a bank, I work with all women, some young and quite cute!

However, some problems

  1. I believe that romance affects work which affects the bottom line. Not fucking worth it.
  2. Many have long term live in boyfriends. Gulp.
  3. I am MARRIED now, so to keep my marriage (and genitals) intact, no hanky panky for me :ignore: :nono:
