Once I had a chat with a catholic couple. They were not the kind of people with a bible and a cross in their hands, trying to enroll you, but their lives seemed to be ruled very strictly by their belief. And so, they were shocked by one of my sentances. I claimed that if we were all sons of God, even people like Stalin (kidding on the fact that a communist leader is thought to be no believer) has his place in Heaven... All the worst bastards on earth being sons of Him.

They concluded later our chat by this : "If you do not believe in God, you cannot not believe in ghosts"...

Still thinking about this sentance...

I believe in them. My grandfather was close to me, and the night he died I was just asking for a sign that he was alright. The sign I asked for was for my bedroom light to flicker three times. Without hesitation, it did so, and my parents were still in the room tucking me into bed when it happened, fully aware of what I'd asked. He had his tobacco specially mixed for him and imported and the company has long gone out of business. He's been dead 14 years now, and still I smell it in weird places - like at the market, or in a movie theatre. His favorite bird, the heron, I have seen out in unseasonable areas at various times a year in different states, always landing near me and any family on that trip. I know it could also be easily coincidence, but I just get a feeling, you know?

Odd things have happened to myself and friends when going to rummage sales in homes where the residents have died. Things from hearing music playing that we all heard when there was absolutely no music playing anywhere in the house to swearing we have seen people we never knew in mirrors and seeing the faces later on in the albums of portraits in another room.

Dunno, we might all be crazy, but I believe in them.
