Tim, album version or overall? The Spooky album mix is weak compared to the Minimix... so I'm asking.

erm...Nicos...either way, you know Spooky is still better than Shite of the Nation...

Hard cos they both aren't great. Went for State

went for State. I'm trying not to complicate my vote and imagined the album version of spooky instead of any better versions.

Spooky for me. Possibly just because I like the bit where it goes "BASS MECHANIC"!

Spooky, not for the album version but for its sublime remixes.

Spooky all the way

SOTN... Spooky is ok, but despite what a load of other folk think, I quite SOTN, especially the big dramatic ending... It'll fall at the next hurdle though (unless a load of people inexplicably vote Liar through and that draws SOTN...:nonono: )

The remixes of Spooky are probably my favourite from the Republic period and the single artwork is fantastic too. The album version is a little flawed in places (needs more Hooky bass, harsher drums) but it still wins this vote hands down.

In my opinion, State Of The Nation sounds badly mixed and produced, no wonder they ditched John Robie shortly afterwards. Imagine how badly True Faith and 1963 would've turned out if he'd still been at the mixing desk? God knows why they interviewed Robie in NewOrderStory as well, I'd much rather have heard from Stephen Hague.

For the True Faith/1963 session anecdotes alone.

I voted for "Spooky", although it was hard to choose. I like both songs, but Spooky has a better beat to it.

Got to be honest, I can't stand either of these. Spooky got the nod only because I was so sick of them opening gigs with State back in the mid 80s!

On the contrary I liked State as an opener. Spooky was just pants period.

But seven minutes wasted out of the hour......didn't mind it so much as the last song, but not an opener!

What to do? Shame of the Nation is better version and all the remixes of Spooky are better than the original.

both crap songs, but SOTN is even crappier than spooky.

Well, State is down there among my least fave NO songs ('state of the nation, wuhhhh' - aarrrghggghhh:banghead: ) so i'll have to go for Spooky:thumb:

Spooky for me. Hated Shite of the nation with a passion. Empty dong for me.

This is going to be a tight one

They're both a bit crap. State edges it for me, though I'd rather this one was postponed due to bad weather...
