I never really had much of an opinion one way or the other with Lonesome Tonight. Its okay. Hurt though, I think is one of their more notable songs because its so weird and unlike a lot of their songs.

It's not fair putting these against each other! Heartbreaking decision - Hurt wins ...

The first really tough one... Didn't used to like Hurt, but have been listening to it a lot recently and it's a real foot-tapper (about as close to dancing as I get!). But LT wins through for me - it's got that classic NO guitar-track thing about it...

Hurt, the 12" version eclipses most of what they have done since then. Raw and powerful, not afraid to take chances. By a country mile, the winner.

Good to see that LT is going to win this. If Hurt didn't have that damned 'slamming door' snare sound it would have been a closer call for me!

If we disregard the superior live versions of Hurt and the inferior live stabs at Lonesome Tonight, then the latter wins it.
