always thought too late was a really good track even though I haven't played it in years. those old peel seesion covers were great. Anyone ever sit down and read every band name on it? or is that just a bit obsessive compulsive??
Too Late is great, but We All Stand is about as trippy as New Order will ever get. Great live versions of that one out there.
Too Late is in my opinion the most underrated song New Order have ever recorded. Listening to Kein Zeichen Von L's version from Community 1 opened my eyes to what an excellent track this is. We All Stand has nothing on this one.
I voted for Too Late even though I've never heard it, that's how much I hate We All Stand. One of NO's worst songs.
I've always liked WAS and never understood why people here seem to dislike it so much, sure Barney's vocals aren't great, but I think it fits well on PC&L and it's different from a lot of stuf they were doing at the time and have done since... Having said that TL is underrated, at least in terms of not being widely available or heard, and I love a cup upset, so TL it is...

Yep. Of all the NO tunes I hum or opening lines I sing at work (or any other time come to think of it): "three miles to go" is not one of them.
whereas "it was a hard hard day for me to do" is totally insanely implanted in moi membrane. comprendez?

Too Late. Criminal it was ignored on PC&L although I don't have anything against We All Stand.

tough bastard seperating these because unlike New Order themselves, I have always loved Too Late. But We All Stand is a classic song.

I'm glad WAS exists, even though it's far from favourite NO track. I like the fact that it's v. atypical of the rest of their work and even though it doesn't *quite* gel, I wish they still had that spirit of experimentation that they had then. Too Late is better though.
I really can't understand all this dislike of We All Stand. Surely its only crime is that it is different to a lot of the stuff they were doing at the time? It was a classic opener to gigs, set the tone nicely (usually for a storming Denial three tracks in to free the shackles). I'd say that it was much better live than it was on record, and that the Peel session version is by far the best recorded version.
