I voted for Ruined in a Day. To tell you the truth, I like both of them at the same time. I guess I like the overall meaning of Ruined in a Day (meloncolic). The integration of the violin bit is also neat for such a song. Ah, but Turn has a more positive, nostalgic message. Why put these two in the competition? ![]()
Ruined, you were a great song but, sorry, What do you want me to say ? What we had has gone away. :\ohwell:
It's time for me to go.
Turn.
Man, the first two matchup that was difficult. Hate to see RIAD bow out so soon but Turn is one of NO's finest.
easy one for me , riad.
Ruined in a day has this majestical thing to it. Very subtle beauty and the violins are pure bliss. Sort of mysterious.
Turn-bland. New order by numbers. Still skip over it.
About three weeks ago, Ruined would have had my vote, but I finally get Turn now. Though I still say it sounds very Cure-esque. *ducks fllying tomatoes*
Turn - probably the only WFTSC song that'll get a good run in this competition. It is pretty NO-by numbers in places, but what a gorgeous song, and a great uplifting chorus... Also very privileged to witness the first live performance of it....
Ruined In A Day for me.
Never understood why so many people find Turn that good.. it's a good song, but I've heard better.
Can't get over the "corner over there" line... ![]()
Turn because it saves the last half of wftsc. I probably never knew how much I loved this track until they played it at brixton and I even surprised myself how loudly i cheered.
Turn... Although I like RIAD much more now than I did when it first came out, but like much of Republic it sounds a bit bland and the production is a bit, well, I'd have liked to hear what's going on a bit more and a bit clearer... Nice enough, but not one of the strongest tracks off a not especially strong album... Turn however is wonderful... Along with Krafty, my fave off WFTSC, simple, powerful, uplifting but with just the right amount of sadness... Should go far if it gets a decent draw...

has to be Ruined . Listen. he's not wrong. will definitely Hang around for a while.
Turn is pure and excellent. the whole world does disappear by the lineseverywhere-- over there-- Turn your eyes from me. It's time for me to go. but Ruined In a day did it first. and is just such a fine song. and it gets hits the edit- although weeks ago- have read through a few & seen that this vote went to Turn. these next rounds will burn quite a mixed CD.
Despite the fact that I still cannot believe that Fine Time lost, I think I have voted for every losing song so far except The Perfect Kiss, which in my opinion should win overall but with my track record so far I'm not quite so sure now...
...Ruined In A Day (especially with some of the great mixes available).
Turn. I aso liked the ambient mix of Ruined and it fitted in well with the live version circa '93 but Turn has the edge. A great song and great at the Apollo too.

Turn. By a country mile. Whatever that means ![]()
Ruined In A Day starts fine but gets a bit lost although the Reading 93 performance of it is stunning.
Turn wins however

No worse than "you could be the lover of Jade".
I mean shes a minger who got her kebab out on tv!
"Turn". I love how this song makes me feel like a little kid all over again when I listen to it.
I hate the RIAD video. The opening version at Reading 93 is fantastic.
Turn is really a beautiful song.
