Mr Cassidy, where's the Sundance kid?

There's loads of magic tracks missing from yer list! Prodigal Son is one of the best Barney tracks outwith NO / JD, obviously there are loads more:nod:

from your list it simply has to be Forbidden City.

Nah, I'm going for the hitch-up with the two nerds from Manchester Uni, the Chemicals :)

I'd have put a lot more Electronic tracks on the list as I agree Marr and Sumner did some fantastic stuff, but I didn't want to list 15 or so Electronic songs massively outnumbering the handful of other Sumner sideline tracks I could think of.

Hmmm.... Having said that, I've just looked back and realized that 5 out of the 8 tracks I listed WERE Electronic songs. DOH!

What a choice!

Getting Away With It. Love that tune.

Can remember seeing the video for Get The Message on MTV in '90 and thinking (before I saw Barney in it) "What a tune. Sounds like Barney Sumner." Then bought the album. As good today as it was then. One of very few albums I listened to all the way through 1st time & loved it.

Also one of very few albums I actually bought on tape AND CD. Bring on the DVD version!!!

Great video for "Get The Message", shot I think in the Philippines (!). The "Getting Away With It" promo with Sumner, Marr and Neil Tennant just getting down in a recording studio is also really cool, in a "Perfect Kiss" kind of way.

If you widen this question to include Bernard Sumner production jobs, I would have to include the following:-

"Inspiration" from the brilliant Section 25 album "From the Hip" (possibly the best New Order track not by New Order?)

"Won't stop loving you" by A Certain Ratio from the equally brilliant album "ACR : MCR"

Personally I would say Vivid or Like No Other from Electronic's Twisted Tenderness. Otherwise, Getting Away

I WOULD HAVE TO SAY OUT OF CONTROL BUT ONLY JUST ABOVE GET THE MESSAGE

Going with "Forbidden City" here. That is just an amazing track. "Vivid" was quite good, too, as was "Some Distant Memory". ;) Still don't quite understand the fuss over GAWI...always felt that it was overrated.

'disappointed' by a nose over 'out of control'.

Forbidden City. Such a great opening song ("There's not a hope..."). Top class lyrics, top class music.

I've gone for Out Of Control on this one, because that was what got me into NO in the first place.

Not many tracks to choose from, is there? I don`t know why you bothered.

Still, I`d go for 'Dark Angel', if I could actually vote for it, that is!

Getting Away With It for sure, I still remember hearing back in '91 in a friends' car and thinking what a lovely, beautiful and sad song it was.

The original, Barney-less, "The Big E", from 1989's "Good together" A&M album is great too!
