  1. Pulsating sequencer, Barney's vocals
  2. The fact that the vocals are multi-layered, Hooky's bass is too whiny and tinny sounding
  3. Merely ok opening track

  5. The bathroom at Subway, or at a tanning bed booth. :thumb:

  1. The simplistic but oh-so-effective chorus, the middle parts of the song itself, of course bleedin' Hooky's basslines, the sha-la-las, hell, most of it.

  2. The production on Brotherhood in general sometimes feels like a bit of a mess, an intentional mess maybe, but that's why I couldn't appreciate the song fully at first.

  3. I love it both live and on the album, even the 316 performance qualifies. The vocal and bass hooks are amongst their catchiest and I love Barney's horny vocals; in the album version especially with the colder and the more desperate vocals communicating with each other.

  5. Bathrooms in general. And saunas of course. :p

Love some of the live performances of Paradise when at the end Barney thrashes his guitar--wa wawa wa wawa wa wa wah

Lyrics a bit confusing and too inbterchangable

I rate it a 85% I think they could have done alot more for this and I hope it will be on the setlist for the next tour.

In my own bed

  1. Best bit - it sowed the seeds of what became Crystal in Bernard's mind

  2. Worst bit - lyrics, bassline, I could keep on

  3. The Shergold 6-string Marathon really wasn't made for this type of Clone Theory-enhanced run up the fretboard, it sounds alien. Maybe down an octave it wouldn't grate so much, but I dunno. The lyrics are typical empty brain Bernard.

  4. 25% - please God they don't resurrect it for the next gigs.

  5. In the shower.

I like th esong. It's a typical New Order one. I prefer the 316 version (or the Peel sesions one, of the same year). I also like the 87' remix on the flipside of one of "True Faith" remixes.:)

Best Part: Bernard's voice, which is at it's most intriguing on this song. What I like: as stated, Bernard's vocal delivery, but also the great bass, and the layering/multi-tracking Dislike: the "whoos" are out of place and detract from the song. Rating: 85% Shag: wherever my wife is.

Best bit : pre-chorus and chorus... very cold-angry/frustrated... really evocative ; when Barney starts singing as well

Worst bit : maybe they could have spared some shalalalala

Why I like it : because everytime I think of a girl I want to go out with and I play this, it just happens (true story - this song is pure magic)

Rating : 90%

Best place to shaft : my bed baby
