but Frank, that's the beauty of opinions...we are all entitled to them (even if I sometimes forget that fact)...
you may not think the album is that good, or that any of the songs are GREAT, but some of us do...
as I have said for a while, GIAUE is a song that I have absolutely fallen in love with...and it IS in my top 10 New order choons of all time...
some people rate Turn as an absolute stunner, but for me, it's very mediocre...
Maya loves Dracula's Castle, but I think it's PANTS...
all I can say for certain is that Thieves Like Us and Lonesome Tonight are my two favorite songs by New order, and I doubt very seriously anything they could produce will change that...and as much as I adore those two songs, you will find at least ONE person who says they are utter shite...
that's the beautiful thing about this place...we all love the order, but can't agree on their output...
This is Jeff the Peacemaker, signing off...I need a beer, a fag, then I need to go to bed...

They could call it "Our Personal Song For Jeff White", and I'd still call it CRAP!!!
but you don't like GIAUE...so piss off, my Serbian Sister!!! ![]()

Again, an american speaking british.
Usually skip past this one as of late, so I haven't listened to it in its entirety for awhile. Maybe I should give it another go, but I don't think it'd make the top half of my fave tracks from the new album.

totally agree...in fact I was thinking about comparing it to a song and the melody to DA was first to come to mind.
I like the track and its really grown on me.
Dracula's Castle contains all New Order's trademarks! It's a great tune! With the WFTSC are the two most completed songs into the album. I think that if someone try to remixe those two songs the outcome will not be something remarkable than the original.
I tried listening to Dracula's Castle on the way back from Dallas yesterday...
It's still pants...
I quite like this track, with all its NO trademarks, but then I like Jetstream as well, so that would render my opinion useless in many people's eyes. No point in arguing about this, each to their own.
DC cought my attention right from the beginning, when listened to the album for the first time - in fact it was the only track of all that didnt have to grow on me - loved it from the beginning :) . Sounds classically NO, has a brilliant melancholic tune, so i totally agree with it being the "Dream Attack" of this album...
As for the title, yeah, could be better, but nowadays with the CDs and all, many ppl would simply call it "track 07" like i have myslef, when discussing the album with some of my friends who had also just got it :D .
Dracula's Castle is KILLER. It's got a great intro, typically shite lyrics and overall nice synth elements.
For the people who don't like it, what part don't you like exactly? I can't hear anything that i dislike even with my hypercritical ears on. People wanted Technique2, well, it's all wrapped up in Drac's Castle.
saw this thread a month too late really.but anyway, liked it at first and as grown on me even more.all typical N.O.stuff-hooky bass, keyboards.also a great'comeback'ending.excellent
Still don't get it, months on. BLT says it's reminiscent of Technique and I think I said in the main forum a while back that DC reminds me of All The Way, which, alas, is another song I never ever 'got'.
Suddenly the song gets a lot better when the Technique vibe comes into the song just a shame that it's so late on... This was at the bottom of my pile with J-E-T the first 15 times I heard it - quite like it now - but not a classic...
It's a typical NO song, one of the best of the album and I don't care if it's got the worst title in NO history! I think I would prefer Dracula's Castle over Krafty as a first single

All The Way is brilliant. Sounds effortless. The arrangement is awesome, gushing guitars, melodic base, triumphant keyboards, and even has that kiddies mouth organ. Plus the lyrics are more meaningful than usual and (as with the whole of Technique) Barneys vocals are absolutely fresh. A personal fave of mine.
Draculas Castle is an above average song IMO but no classic. End of.
