Not much to say but a great track. Possibly top 10 of all time for New Order

people on here are overating this album terribly. its a good album but it hasnt produced any song that is in the top 10, 20, 30, of anything new order has put out :nono:

I say people on here underrate Dracula's Castle just because of the lame title. Come on peeps, you know you love it. :thumb:

but Frank, that's the beauty of opinions...we are all entitled to them (even if I sometimes forget that fact)...

you may not think the album is that good, or that any of the songs are GREAT, but some of us do...

as I have said for a while, GIAUE is a song that I have absolutely fallen in love with...and it IS in my top 10 New order choons of all time...

some people rate Turn as an absolute stunner, but for me, it's very mediocre...

Maya loves Dracula's Castle, but I think it's PANTS...

all I can say for certain is that Thieves Like Us and Lonesome Tonight are my two favorite songs by New order, and I doubt very seriously anything they could produce will change that...and as much as I adore those two songs, you will find at least ONE person who says they are utter shite...

that's the beautiful thing about this place...we all love the order, but can't agree on their output...

This is Jeff the Peacemaker, signing off...I need a beer, a fag, then I need to go to bed...

They could call it "Our Personal Song For Jeff White", and I'd still call it CRAP!!!

but you don't like GIAUE...so piss off, my Serbian Sister!!! :skeptic:

Guilt is bollocks but I still love you Jeff!

Dracula's Caste is the Dream Attack of WFTSC.

Usually skip past this one as of late, so I haven't listened to it in its entirety for awhile. Maybe I should give it another go, but I don't think it'd make the top half of my fave tracks from the new album.

totally agree...in fact I was thinking about comparing it to a song and the melody to DA was first to come to mind.

I like the track and its really grown on me.

Dracula's Castle contains all New Order's trademarks! It's a great tune! With the WFTSC are the two most completed songs into the album. I think that if someone try to remixe those two songs the outcome will not be something remarkable than the original.

I tried listening to Dracula's Castle on the way back from Dallas yesterday...

It's still pants...

I quite like this track, with all its NO trademarks, but then I like Jetstream as well, so that would render my opinion useless in many people's eyes. No point in arguing about this, each to their own.

DC cought my attention right from the beginning, when listened to the album for the first time - in fact it was the only track of all that didnt have to grow on me - loved it from the beginning :) . Sounds classically NO, has a brilliant melancholic tune, so i totally agree with it being the "Dream Attack" of this album...

As for the title, yeah, could be better, but nowadays with the CDs and all, many ppl would simply call it "track 07" like i have myslef, when discussing the album with some of my friends who had also just got it :D .

Dracula's Castle is KILLER. It's got a great intro, typically shite lyrics and overall nice synth elements.

For the people who don't like it, what part don't you like exactly? I can't hear anything that i dislike even with my hypercritical ears on. People wanted Technique2, well, it's all wrapped up in Drac's Castle.

saw this thread a month too late really.but anyway, liked it at first and as grown on me even more.all typical N.O.stuff-hooky bass, keyboards.also a great'comeback'ending.excellent

Still don't get it, months on. BLT says it's reminiscent of Technique and I think I said in the main forum a while back that DC reminds me of All The Way, which, alas, is another song I never ever 'got'.

provocative? poor? provocatively poor, more like.

definitely not this album's dream attack!

Suddenly the song gets a lot better when the Technique vibe comes into the song just a shame that it's so late on... This was at the bottom of my pile with J-E-T the first 15 times I heard it - quite like it now - but not a classic...

I do not like this track one bit.

And it's a horrible title for a New Order song.

the hook is very catchy, great song!

It's a typical NO song, one of the best of the album and I don't care if it's got the worst title in NO history! I think I would prefer Dracula's Castle over Krafty as a first single

All The Way is brilliant. Sounds effortless. The arrangement is awesome, gushing guitars, melodic base, triumphant keyboards, and even has that kiddies mouth organ. Plus the lyrics are more meaningful than usual and (as with the whole of Technique) Barneys vocals are absolutely fresh. A personal fave of mine.

Draculas Castle is an above average song IMO but no classic. End of.

I like it. Is catchy..

Has to be in the top 25 songs of no.

"Dracula's Castle" is a great song, but the best song on the cd is by far "Morning Night and Day", this would rock any night club, i'd love to be in one when the dj decided to play it, hmmm, maybe I'll introduce all those dancers to this song myself. And give "Spooky" the respect it de

Everybody was hoping for a Technique sounding album and here you have a song just like that, and people say it's shite. WTF? One of the better songs IMHO if not the best on the album.

Really like the title too...

Doesnt sound anything like a track off Technique. Its too cluttered and vocals and lyrics are poor. Over-produced and laboured.

It's my favourite from the album since the first time I heard it just before wftsc ...

Yes, the production could be better and clearer on the first half. The song itself still has that Technique feel, especially the harmonic melody lines (bass, synth leads, pizzicato strings) towards the end.

Its a good NO song, not the best on the album, but solid. Probably an 8/10

The only bit i don't like is the way Bernard sings feel real & kneel as 'fe-ol' 're-ol' & 'ne-ol' but I love the 'you can't keep on running (oohoohooh) how far d'you think you'll get' verse.
Like all the rest tho' it should be LOUDER:evil4:

I LIKE IT. :thumb:

Many forum members make that song worst than it is. The lyrics are not so good but so others in NO history and I love those anyway.

nope. still don't get it.

Dracula's Castle is probably the most boring track on the record to me... nice but somewhat forgettable and very uninspired, New Order recycling themselves sort of like a cover band of themselves

...and the stupid title and lyrics don't help it's case at all either

maybe pretty harsh, but i find it hard to understand calling "Dracula's Castle" an A-list New order song.
i have no problem with the guys having fun, but maybe trying to get two albums worth out of these sessions was not exactly the best idea, I guess we'll have to wait and see what is on the second record and whether a little editorial restraint would have been best...

A vampire slayer not appreciating Draculas Castle. What are the chances?

It´s getting better but it ain´t none of my favourite No songs.

i like this song... for WFTSC, which is quite a proviso. no way its a classic. the worst thing is the title, its so awful i can't even begin to think why no one told berbnard to change it. ITS FUCKIMNG AWFUL. makes me think of count duckula. the thing i do like about it though is that bernard's voice sounds much less strained, like he's not foghorning it out for once. lyrically got some good bernard themes, still a bit silly. both points go for guilt actually. verdict: nice pop song, won't make me get all emotional when i'm pissed though.

Well, the title is not very good, but the song is.

It MUST be the 4th single. Of course, with the release of this stupid Singles compilation, another single would just seem STUPID.

A great tune, especially when you consider how "New Orderish" it is, unlike the mainstream-sounding crap you can find on WFTSC. ( Guilt's a prime example)

So, I like it. Catchy as hell, too.

this song is still CRAP...

there is only one choon on this album that I dislike more...and it isn't guilt...

I think it's a cracking song and has all the N.O. trade marks. But everybody has there own thoughts on the matter. I would deffinatley put it in my New Order Top ten of all time. And "Dracula's Castle" would be behind "Hey now what you doing" some were in that top ten. I think alot of people are afraid to put any track off the last two Albums in there top ten just because they are new ? And they dont yet have that Vintage feel about them such as E.G.G. and Temptation. P.S. Great catchy tune and got my ears the first time i heard the Album.:)

DC is a marriage between Special and Dream Attack, both favorits of mine.

The rhythm of DC is very catchy and the voice of Bernard sounds the best in DC.

Yeah that's the dumbest name for a NO song I've heard ever. With Guilt a close second.

surely one of the most interesting songs of the last LP

have they been in Romania by the way ?

it's definitively my favourite track on the album....

This song, alond with 'Turn', absolutely rocks. It's what they do best. Definately one of the stand out tracks on this album.. As for Jetstream...hmmm.

What the fook are you talking about? DC is utter shite. How on earth can you compare it to Dream Attack?!!

Dream Attack is an utter stunner. It is what made Technique so beautiful.

DC is NO at their laziest.

I totally agree. I think DC is like WFTSC, Krafty and GIAUE. All 4 tracks are missing the X factor and are rehashed themes and should have been oh so much better. The music on DC is fine and dandy but the verse lyrics are lazy and the chorus just doesnt happen, does it?

i like it myself.its not in same class as dream attack of course but the ending is similar for sure, but not a match

Great song! I'm glad they put this on the album.

Think I like this more when the album first came out - I tend to skip this (and most of the middle of the album) nowadays... Definitely don't get the Dream Attack comparisons and as for the titles - well I think WFTSC is probably their weakest (for me at least) in terms of quality titles...

If im completely honest, first time i played the album i thought DC was dire and as a result haven't listened to the track since.

Am i missing out on a good tune? Didn't think so... :ignore:

i am sure early in this thread i stuck up for drac castle for ages at the time.its a technique style track and had it been on the technique album i would still play it. its on the sirens call album though and i dont play that much.so its somewhat gone a miss to me

Still soulless album filler. If you want Technique, listen to Technique.

vampires are all the rage now, so maybe Dracula's Castle is in vogue or somesuch:shrug:

Brrrrr..... Freezy! The real Dracula's Castle ? No, just a recording studio, as we all know.:)

My first thought when I saw the title was maybe he was trying to be appealing to the Goths. The thing is...New Order were never that kind of band.
