Dracula's Castle

"Dracula's Castle" is a great song, but the best song on the cd is by far "Morning Night and Day", this would rock any night club, i'd love to be in one when the dj decided to play it, hmmm, maybe I'll introduce all those dancers to this song myself. And give "Spooky" the respect it de
Everybody was hoping for a Technique sounding album and here you have a song just like that, and people say it's shite. WTF? One of the better songs IMHO if not the best on the album.
Really like the title too... ![]()

Doesnt sound anything like a track off Technique. Its too cluttered and vocals and lyrics are poor. Over-produced and laboured.
Yes, the production could be better and clearer on the first half. The song itself still has that Technique feel, especially the harmonic melody lines (bass, synth leads, pizzicato strings) towards the end.
Its a good NO song, not the best on the album, but solid. Probably an 8/10
The only bit i don't like is the way Bernard sings feel real & kneel as 'fe-ol' 're-ol' & 'ne-ol'
but I love the 'you can't keep on running (oohoohooh) how far d'you think you'll get' verse.
Like all the rest tho' it should be LOUDER![]()
I LIKE IT. ![]()
Many forum members make that song worst than it is. The lyrics are not so good but so others in NO history and I love those anyway.
Dracula's Castle is probably the most boring track on the record to me... nice but somewhat forgettable and very uninspired, New Order recycling themselves sort of like a cover band of themselves
...and the stupid title and lyrics don't help it's case at all either
maybe pretty harsh, but i find it hard to understand calling "Dracula's Castle" an A-list New order song.
i have no problem with the guys having fun, but maybe trying to get two albums worth out of these sessions was not exactly the best idea, I guess we'll have to wait and see what is on the second record and whether a little editorial restraint would have been best...

A vampire slayer not appreciating Draculas Castle. What are the chances? ![]()
i like this song... for WFTSC, which is quite a proviso. no way its a classic. the worst thing is the title, its so awful i can't even begin to think why no one told berbnard to change it. ITS FUCKIMNG AWFUL. makes me think of count duckula. the thing i do like about it though is that bernard's voice sounds much less strained, like he's not foghorning it out for once. lyrically got some good bernard themes, still a bit silly. both points go for guilt actually. verdict: nice pop song, won't make me get all emotional when i'm pissed though.
It MUST be the 4th single. Of course, with the release of this stupid Singles compilation, another single would just seem STUPID.
A great tune, especially when you consider how "New Orderish" it is, unlike the mainstream-sounding crap you can find on WFTSC. ( Guilt's a prime example)
So, I like it. Catchy as hell, too.
this song is still CRAP...
there is only one choon on this album that I dislike more...and it isn't guilt...
I think it's a cracking song and has all the N.O. trade marks. But everybody has there own thoughts on the matter. I would deffinatley put it in my New Order Top ten of all time. And "Dracula's Castle" would be behind "Hey now what you doing" some were in that top ten. I think alot of people are afraid to put any track off the last two Albums in there top ten just because they are new ? And they dont yet have that Vintage feel about them such as E.G.G. and Temptation. P.S. Great catchy tune and got my ears the first time i heard the Album.:)
DC is a marriage between Special and Dream Attack, both favorits of mine.
The rhythm of DC is very catchy and the voice of Bernard sounds the best in DC.
This song, alond with 'Turn', absolutely rocks. It's what they do best. Definately one of the stand out tracks on this album.. As for Jetstream...hmmm.

What the fook are you talking about? DC is utter shite. How on earth can you compare it to Dream Attack?!! ![]()
Dream Attack is an utter stunner. It is what made Technique so beautiful.
DC is NO at their laziest.

I totally agree. I think DC is like WFTSC, Krafty and GIAUE. All 4 tracks are missing the X factor and are rehashed themes and should have been oh so much better. The music on DC is fine and dandy but the verse lyrics are lazy and the chorus just doesnt happen, does it?
i like it myself.its not in same class as dream attack of course but the ending is similar for sure, but not a match
Think I like this more when the album first came out - I tend to skip this (and most of the middle of the album) nowadays... Definitely don't get the Dream Attack comparisons and as for the titles - well I think WFTSC is probably their weakest (for me at least) in terms of quality titles...

New Order and the intangible X Factor.
