Best bit : Can't think of one. Maybe when the bass sequencer kicks in again before the second chorus.

Worst bit : It's not a very good track.

Like/hate : Wouldn't bother me if I never heard it again.

Cure : Some excellent tracks mixed in with a load of pretentious wank.

I Love it. Classic New Order 94% Keyboard line is the best bit.

Cure have done some o.k. stuff A forrest and In Between Days spring to mind. Though I agree the connection between the bands must mainly exist in the rest of the world.

Best Bit - "If you mess with me, I'll get rid of you" ....i have to say this is the first NewOrder 12" I bought on release day. Great sleeve and interesting video.

Worst Bit - the fact that those tossers in NewOrder won't play anything from Technique Live.

Love vs. Hate - It takes me back to that moment in my life...driving home with the record on the seat and Technique in the cassette deck...good energy

The Cure WERE a very good band until Wish was released. Disintigration was nearly perfect, Kiss me...had Like Cockatoos that still gets the occaisional spin and Seventeen Seconds is one of my all time favorite complete albums....and that's not mentioning Head On the Door (kyoto song) which is another great album. The Cure In Orange is a wonderful concert film that beats the shit out of any concert film NewOrder have released....and anyone else for that matter. They really should have given up in 1991. The remix of Close To Me holds very special memories of my first year in college, or was it the second year? All i see are christmas lights in the dorm and trying to keep the smoke from billowing out into the hall.

• Why you love it/hate it/or just don't care right now: sounds like cheap Pet Shop Boys. Yet I found it catchy when it was released. I just grew bored of it.

Best Bit: The Stephen Hague remix improved on the oriiginal just a tad Worst Bit: It's quite dull really, not the strongest ever NewOrder choon. Why I like/dislike it: Like I already said. Rating: 4.5 out of 10 The Cure? I think Robert Smith should start taking more drugs. They played the Elephant Fayre Festival in Cornwall once and I was so stoned at the time I really thought I was hearing Dexys Midnight Runners.....

1. Have always liked the song, and still play it lots. Also like the remixes on the US 12".

2. I remember thinking when it was released that it probably wouldn't be one of their strongest singles.

3. Sounded very good live, and the Technique show was a great one.

Don't own much of The Cure (the A&M repackaging of Faith and Seventeen Seconds, as well as Head On The Door and the cassettes of Curiosities (live side plus some unreleased stuff) and Standing On A Beach (some interesting b-sides, especially the one with the symphony on it), plus a few singles.

Have to admit they were great live on the Head On The Door tour, but haven't heard a lot in the past few years that really caught my attention. They probably should've packed it in after Disintegration.

Best Bit - When I skip over it.

Worst Bit - The bit I hear when I'm too slow in skipping it.

Why you love it/hate it/or just don't care right now - Really awful stuff. Someone else said NO by numbers, I agree but with all the good numbers taken out. Formulaic, dull, 80's dance music - stick to the guitars guys.

Percentage rating - 10%

The Cure. Great band or absolute load of wank? - Faith & pornography are in my top 10 along with UP, Closer, Movement & PCL. Disintegration is excellent as well. Not keen on the post-Disintegration stuff.

The Cure: What a long, strange trip it's been for those guys. I think the Goth thing they got up to speed with in the early years kinda pigeon-holed them for the rest of their career as depressives, but they moved beyond that. Some of the poppier stuff grates, but on the whole Robert Smith could've been considered in the same league as Elvis Costello and other poppier offshoots of the punk movement. All in all, great (though it might be time to throw in the towel and quit rehashing past glories for endless "best of"s)

They have 30 or 40 songs that I would not want to live without. I love the many different musical influences they show in their music. Apart from vocals, they have a large vocabulary of sound.

Top tune there isn't one if i'm listening to this, i'm listenimg to Technique 88% If i went to Tiffanys (in my younger days) and the DJ slipped them onto the decks i'd be up dancing (in a legs ramrod straight arms like a whirling dervish styleee)

best part? the intro worst? Hmmmm, tough one why i love it? brings back some nice memories rating? 90% the cure? For some reason, all the ppl i knew that listened to JD here, loved the cure as well. Me, on the other hand, not at all, and i was ashamed to admit that in front of all of them :D . Now i can say it out loud, i hate the Cure, and im proud !!! .

Glad to hear it. I have never ever seen or heard a connection between JD and The Cure. Smith has always been a pretentious twat to me (rivalled only by Nicky Wire), and I am deeply disturbed and saddened by the predominantly American desire held by some to lump JD and The Cure into the same genre. Fookin' genres my arse. Everything has to be neatly compartmentalised. Bollocks.

best bit--the intro from the 12inch worst bit--trying to walk across the house and not waking my daughter in an attempt to look at the single why--not my first or second choice but I do hit eject when it is on. I like the chorus "don't waste my money, baby." The Cure--great band despite alot of shit filler in their cat. I can live forever if I do not have to hear 39 again.

A bit of a disapointment.

5. The Cure is one of my favorite bands, tying with NO, but below Smashing Pumpkins. Saw them live in 2000 and well, there isn't much to say.

5. I love The Cure, but some of their stuff is pretty bad. Most of it I like, and they've made some great albums, but it can't be 1982 forever.

I loved this New Order song for the longest time. The lyrics mirrored my life so much. I love Peter Hook's bass lines, one of his best I think.
