Okay, here we go, Monday and I almost forgot about this...

so, here we go!

This week, you shall be telling each other what you think about

Leave Me A Loan

best bit worst bit why you love/hate it percentage rating

and this week, a very simple straightforward, but personal question...let's see who is honest...eh???

how many times have you done IT in the past seven days?

and I shall go first...

best bit-Hooky's bass worst bit-little slow, but still enjoyable love it-it's a catchy little ditty that has been stuck in my head for about a week now I'll give it a 77

and yes, I haven't done it in the last 7 days...between work and moving....I have been too damned tired...

  1. Best bit - the way the guitars mesh
  2. Worst bit - they don't do it live anymore !
  3. One of the all-time classics

best bit The guitar melodies The way the song builds and leaves you exhausted at the end The lyrics The way Barney effortlessly sings the lyrics The very simple nature of the song

worst bit When it ends, it requires playing again, which is slightly annoying if the CD has no remote control - an arm must be raised and a finger must be used.

why you love/hate it It is a unique song with a mythical quality. That is why I love it.

percentage rating This song proceeds past the usual percentage rating and formulates a rating of its own. Very few other NO songs could be included in this class, 'Ceremony', 'TMW', 'Temptation', 'Your Silent Face'.

2 If I had to be critical - I'd say some of the lyrics are a bit weak - book tae luck:lol:

3 I do love the song - see numero uno

5 Yer only asking this one cos you've found someone daft enough to shag ye:evil4: "Leave Me Alone" ;)

1 - The chiming guitars, the pure uncluttered simplicity of it. 2 - There is no bad bit. 3 - Reminds me a lot of "Ceremony" the way the track plays out with the guitars...whilst only being a tad less spine-tingling than THAT classic song. 4 - 90%. 5 - Um....my god...y'knaa, Aa've completely lost count of the number of times man...! :o

Best bits are the simple but effective guitar riff, and I do like the lyrics, especially the second verse.

No bad bits here.

Love it cause it sounds right at the end of PC&L, especially after Ecstasy. I'd always imagined that the lyrics were aimed at the critics of the band back in the day.

Okay, 0 times. Happy now? :nonono:

Huntsman, how on earth can you classify TurnMyWay in the same category as Ceremony, Temptation and Your Silent Face? That is the most outrageous claim on this forum including Jeff finding someone to shag him. Turn My Way is at best a middle of the road NewOrder song and at worst, an Oasis B-side. It features a washed-up Bald American (one-time) Rock Star with a voice that makes me double over with disgust. Turn My Way is just OK and definitely not to be included in a list of NewORder classics. Leave Me Alone on the other hand is a true Gem of an album cut.

Best Bit - the drum pattern at the beginning leading to the bass leading to the guitar leading to the vocal... worst bit - Huntsy had this right....having to restart it when it finishes rating - 99% why? - it's beautifully written emotional electo-acoustic music

1 BEST BIT: The "plucked" Guitar, the morose delivery of the beautiful lyrics by Barney, the tempo of the song...

2 WORST BIT: No bad bits in this song. It is true that is quite addictive, yesterday I ended up listening to it for nearly an hour.

3 RATING: 99%

4 WHY? A Sixtin Chapel of a song :nerd: "Wish I had written it" Paul McCartney

5 "A story in itself. I don't talk about stuff that is private to me." (who said that? Apropos what?, answers in a postcard)

Now, Jeff, Seen what you've done by asking silly questions? This must have been the worst return on any song since this was started, you have scared the punters away! :nono:

As I believe I've said before, it is my candidate for all-time best NO song.

Hi, Jeff! Don't think I didn't notice you used my version of the title! Yes, I think Huntsy and I are very much in agreement on this one.
