Actually it was only when Jem pointed it out to me that I realised it was a complete paddyism...I suppose it's the broad equivalent of the londoners follow all statements with a question...."I went dahn the pub, Didn't I, and that geezah woz there wasn't he" Or the welsh tendency to you "isn't it" as a generic question to do the same job.
